1) Remove ALL power. Remove the AC adapter (Charger) and Battery.

2) It would be best to buy, and wear an ESD wrist strap.
(Electro Static Discharge)
The average cost is around $3 to $6.
Available in a multitude of stores.

Connect it's alligator clip to a good ground source.
(I connect to an unpainted surface, of the metal frame of an open, empty desktop computer case )

You will be operating in the middle of exposed hardware, and circuitry, that is EASILY Static shocked. (A Processor for example, is the MOST susceptible computer hardware component to Static shock)

Try running it in compatability mode; Right click the icon and select properties. Go to the compatability tab and check the "Run in compatability mode" tab. Select the recommended operating system for the game. e.g. Windows Vista Service Pack 2
