How can you check the page counter on the MF5770 without networking a computer to it? We would like to keep track of the number of copies we are doing each month

My canon mf5770 is copying double copies

Under your page set up you will find a box to select for two sided copies make sure it is not checked marked and when your preview of the document to be printed there is a box selecting two sided un mark it. make sure you have not selected sort it will be under finishing. and you may have a selection of save paper it will make it go to two sided. of course to save paper. There is a big push to save paper in our industry and machine have a ECO setting for saving our enviroment.

These machines have a internal counters to keep track of consumable parts. The part has reached its mark. it needs replaced. you can cheat the system by reseting the fuser counter to zero. It is just that cheating the system. You will encounter problems if you do such. Copy quality will be effected maybe not right away but it will happen. Offsetting print from one page to the other. It will be real noticeable on the edges of the paper. replace the fixing assembly.

I have Canon IR 400 photocopier. My problem is -

This not really a problem. Canon Copiers have various counters that track the counts of Various sized papers. Long, short and the like. The only counter that really matters in the 101 or total counter. This the counter that tracks every piece of paper that goes through the copier. This is the counter used to track copy usage. If you have a service contract this the counter the dealership will use to track copies for billing. Ignore anything but the total counter.

With a Konica Minolta Bizhub printer that has account tracking turned on. Can my employer see exactly what I print or can they just see the number of pages, number of pages in color, etc.

The copy track function only keeps track of how many B&W/Color copies/prints are made per user account. There is no record kept on the machine of actual print copy content. That is not to say they might have some other device or software program that COULD give them that information.

Ricoh Aficio 1035 from Networked Unit to Stand Alone

There is a service code to disable the key counter. I'll have to look it up. If you are not connected to a network, you can still use the copier without being hooked up to one. That is just a warning message. You can clear it out by pressing user tools counter. Select interface and set all ip addresses to 0.0.0.0.

Paper feed broken

You broke a part. It is a low end machine. The repair will cost close to the repalcement cost of the machine. I would replace it and start with a new warranty.

If there is a LCD panel on the front there will be a maintenance mode for you printer if you find out which key presses you need to enter it then you will find the page count plus other info like no. of cartridges, you might have to go to a 3rd party dealer who specializes in printer repair as most companies like canon and brother can get hold of the service PDF's.

SOURCE: check page counter on Canon MF6590

if the control panel doesnt have the "Check counter" button then you need to print the System dump list.
Access to service mode, then go to Report, then choose report output, then choose system dump, then press OK.

All the above info is classified since this machines are not suppoused to be kept track of prints like that for the user. Reason why i cannot go further.

when the page is printed (the first one) tells you how many copies you have Totally printed... under PRINT-TTL.
