Washer constantly fills with hot water even when turned off.
My washer will constantly fill with hot water even when it is not running. I have to turn the valve off to stop it. It will keep filling until it overflows. The cold water is fine.
Mine is cold water running in. I wonder if I connect old to hot and maybe put one of those things on there where water will mix before it goes into machine. Maybe that will work. Sure can't afford $50.Mine is cold water running in. I wonder if I connect old to hot and maybe put one of those things on there where water will mix before it goes into machine. Re: Washer constantly fills with hot water even when...
Sounds like a bad mixing valve. To verify that it is the valve you need to turn off the washer when it is filling. If water keeps running, replace the valve, Cost is under $50. for most washers.

If it fills with water and starts the cycle and
the water keeps running in then your water inlet valve on the back where the
water supply comes in is sticking. It needs replacing. The cold side can fail independently of the hot side.
This is often, if not all the time, a faulty fill valve, the fill
valve has mechanically stuck open and is not fully shutting off when
not the washer is not in use. This normally will become worse and could
flood over the top of the washer = big mess .... replace the fill
valve. The fill valve is the part the hot and cold water hoses are attached to.
Littleone.. please check your instructions.. some washers now dont need Hot water connection to them...they heat their own as part of the efficiency settings on the wash programmes themselves!
dudett, uplug the washer and turn the water valves on. If the washer is filling with the washer unplugged the valve is bad. Part number 22001196. Not a hard job. If you need help installing, just e-mail the cat here at [email protected] Catriver..post back.
