I have a Kodak EasyShare Camera - DX6340. I'm trying to use cable to load pictures. I have it running from the computer to the camera and it says the scanner or camera is in use? But, if I turn the camera off, it won't detect it. In the past I've used the docking station, but my computer that it's hooked to isn't working. thoughts?

Try and use a card reader.
If your cable is faulty it will be dif. to find another since KODAK no longer produce this particular cable.

What is the best SD card to use for Kodak EasyShare DX6340 Camera?

I have owned this camera since 2003. It can only use an older type SD card, maximum capacity 2Gb. If the card does not have a number inside a circle such as 4 or 10, it should work. That vintage of card is called a 0 (zero) speed card.

I need the software to be able to download to computer for dx6340

Do you really?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

If you want Kodak's Easyshare software, you can download the Windows version at

and the Macintosh version at

DX6340 WILL ONLY POWER UP WHEN ATTACHED TO THE EASY SHARE PRINTER DOCK

It's the fuse in the battery circuit - happens frequently but Kodak won't acknowledge a problem with the model. Repair costs aren't worth it vs replacement - and Kodak won't repair if not under warranty

Please help me

When you say 'It keeps saying that the camera is marked for deletion.', where are you getting this message from? Check device manager to see if you can remove the device successfully.
Do you have admin priveleges to install on your work system? If not, the device drivers may not be properly installed. If you have XP at work, uninstall the Kodak software, then try connecting the device. You can see the camera as a mounted volume through the system drivers.
You can install just the EasyShare software, not requiring the camera drivers, if you choose to, and the camera will still mount successfully.
Good luck!
