RAZR Phone stopped working. Messages say "Insert SIM card" and "Check SIM" . Cannot find SIM card to check contacts. Please help.
Are you guys serious....
Verizon & Alltel (which happened to recently finalize the merge) use CDMA. CDMA does not use SIM cards.
AT&T, T-Mobile, etc. use SIM cards - wheter they are 3G networks, TDMA, etc.
I have a RAZR V3m also, that I bought at eBay. The slot everyone here appears to be referring to is for a micro SD card. The picture shows how the SD card is inserted. The original owners did not have an SD card installed. And the phone worked fine. Which seems to indicate the phone has an internal memory, probably a SIM card. Which is not user accessable. I'm guessing the phone has to be taken apart to get to the SIM. I'm going to be doing this in the next week or so. I'll check out the suspicious outline that problem 17 refers to first. I'll report back to this page my results.
Hi folks - I took apart and totally destroyed my Verizon branded RAZR V3m. There is NO SIM card. Instead, there is a memory chip hard wired to the circuit board. From what I saw, this memory chip is preprogrammed with the phone number and carrier features. The card picture referred to above is for the micro SD card. This card is just for additional memory - for pics, video, and music, dependent on the carrier. I also went to the Motorola web site. They're unlocked RAZR V3's have a SIM slot underneath the battery. Bottom Line? If your RAZR V3 doesn't have a SIM card slot under the battery, forget it. You can not change carriers.

If your phone use sim card the card is locate in the battery comparment remove the back cover and there is the card if you want to remove the card remove the baterry first then push the card out with your fingers thats all ...good luck and rate me
Same problem with a RAZR V3m. Picture shows card next to battery but none is there nor is slot big enough to accept one. There is a suspicious outline of a card UNDER a sticker that was under the battery. Anyone think that its hidden there?
The Motorola Razr V3M does not have a sim card so that is an error message. What I had to do was turn the phone off and let it rest for a few minutes then turn it back on and now it's working fine. I had dropped my phone when the error message appeared so it might have dislodged the chip causing it to be discombobulated.

I contacted Alltel and they told me their version does not have a SIM card.

I see the outline of a sim card too! Maybe it's hidden under there!
No, I've removed the stickers and there is nothing accessable underneath them. :(
With the display facing downward, open the access cover (located on the right side of the device). Utilizing the notch, carefully lift then rotate the cover away from the SIM card slot. Press in to unlock the card (figure 1) then slide it out of the SIM card slot. If applicable, refer to Insert the SIM Card.
