Yes. it's about time to cut your losses and accept that this fridge has had it's days , and now is time for a new one. Actually in the user manual they clearly state that the expected service life of your fridge is 8 years so it has worked beyond that.

Hi Staci, welcome to Fixya. In regards to your fridge freezing up continually ( I assume you have to defrost it manually ). It is likely the defrost comtrol. Your fridge has what`s called an "adaptive defrost control" and it is an electronic control board. That is based on the info provided indicating your model is a Maytag. I`d bet on the defrost control, it is certainly the most common for maytag built fridges such as yours. ( now owned by Whirlpool ) Part # 12002104 and retails for approx. $ 65- $70 via "searspartsdirect.com" or "repairclininc.com". Repair clinic substitutes it to their own part # 948430, but they are one in the same. It will be located in the right rear corner of the fridge section under all the plastic control & light covers. freezer not defrosting. probably adaptive defrost board in fridge.
take panel off freezer (inside, back panel). if all frozen, can defrost with blow dryer. best to remove fridge control panel (inside, top of fidge). access adaptive defrost board, jump test to f1 (i think) next to test. this should initialize defrost mode. buy new board.

Check to see if you have frost on the back panel of your freezer in your fridge. If you do your coil is frozen over and you'll have to defrost your freezer. I just did mine cause mine wasn't cooling properly on my fridge side.

This sounds like a defrosting problem. There is a defrost timer, a heater element, and a therm-o- disk thing that shuts the heater off when the frost is melted. These are the things to check, but it's usually the heater that is burnt out.

whats the amps from compressor?

Check the evaporator fan motor located abocve teh cooling coils in the freezer side.
