I expect the doors aren't level because the cabinet isn't square in spite of standing level.
Fridge cabinets aren't very rigid even though they appear strong and substantial and transit can be very stressful for them. I think if you accurately measure the diagonals of the metalwork across the apertures you will find them slightly unequal - probably just by a couple of millimetres.
Sometimes a couple of strong guys can shove them back into shape so the diagonals are exactly equal...
My tall Hotpoint larder fridge had exactly the same problem and I was able to do the job on my own.
Hinge screws probably loose. Refrigerator doors have hinges screwed on the outside. The hinges allow for you to move door to be level, loosen screws, move door level and hold it there till you tighten screws. Sometimes the hinges are covered with a plastic piece that you pry gently up on to remove.
By adjusting doors you mean the reason door look uneven or doors wont close them self.
Door can be adjusted by proper level of the fridge. Please remember the front legs or casters should be raised, so the door swings close. Also the door is attached to hinges which have some leverage.
Check the bottom fridge door hinge. There should be two plastic cams, one that mounts to the door and one that mounts to the hinge. From your discription it sounds as if thoes cams have broke and need to be replaced
After all the good ideas you've already tried, the next things on your list could be: (a) level the floor under the fridge - they often sag under the heavy weight of a loaded fridge due to moisture/rot. (b) level the fridge itself - using the leveling legs. If the fridge continues to have a problem with the door poping open, try raising up the front of the fridge above level. (c) unload the door pockets - making the doors lighter may help solve the problem.
Try to set the level of the fridge. Using a bubble level on top, adjust the front feet up/down to level it. When the doors open, weight is to the front and may help with an internal fan blade position.
the fan goes off when door opened and when closes it will turn back on is normal operation of fan and door control --as to noise --fan may be failing ---iced over ----if seal failing will cause unit to run more and allows more moisture into evap which can cause more ice over
You said,We have a relatively new Bosch fridge-freezer. It has started
chuntering away like a motor-bike in the corner of the room. It falls
silent if either door is opened. Sometimes it falls quiet and runs
sweetly for hours before starting this racket again. Any ideas?
What is the Complete model number and the date you bought the fridge!
It sounds like it may be a faulty fan or fan clutch from here, if it's not something else very simple!
Send me the info requested and do a repair search for you ! Waiting for your response! Huuum
Here are some common noise problems till I look your unit up!
1.Check that the fridge is level, using a spirit level! 2. Appliance is touching some other unit or appliances, or counter or wall. 3. Drawers, baskets,or storage ares are loose, or sticking! 4.Receptacles or bottles are touching. Move them away from each other, ESPECIALLY ON THE DOOR,because it's quiet when the doors are open!
The door needs to be level, or the whole side of refrigerator. Pull off black strip at bottom front, there should be screws on either side to level the fridge. goodluck
In a Home the recommended level (front higher to back lower) is 1/4" (Right to Left - level) Never less than in order to allow door to shut own their own, but there is nothing wrong with having a perfect level refrig if everyone closes the doors properly which they won't. A refrigerator requires to be reasonable leveled to avoid compressor fatigue. In a Motorhome people can't always find level ground, so it quite frequent that their refrigerator burns up when running. From that experience I'd say I would level any fridge which is over 1/2 inch off.
