Linksys WMP300N install issue. After following installation instructions upon reboot computer stuck in endless boot loop. Have uninstalled and reinstalled twice.
Disable or uninstall the Linksys software that manages and monitors the connection.
Use instead the Microsoft Windows Wireless configuration utility.
That's what I did and didn't get problem after.
Make sure that you first install the cds files and then it tales you too reboot your pc follow the steps and dont take the Cd out and it should recognize the next steps after turning your pc back on.
I have a gateway fx7024 running windows vista and i have it located in a trailer about 150ft from my house. The WMP300N Wireless pci card is installed in my pc which has only one pci slot which use to house a dialup fax modem... Anyways when installed my pc will not start.. the fans power on and power button is lit... then when the fans hit full boar the shut off and the power light goes off for a second or two then repeats this cycle. I can put another type of wireless pci adapter in and it works fine... so not the slot. I first tried the cd then downloaded the updated vista drivers. It did once work until i shut down my pc and went to work and started the endless boot cycle. So i know it gets a great signal. i use to have the WUSB300N but it got horrible signal. Please help!!! I may try to use system restore and try all over again incase somethings hindering the machine or just give up completely...
You didn't say what OS you are using. Here are the latest XP and VISTA drivers, maybe you will have good luck with them.

Thnx, but I've also tried the newest drivers, both US & EU. Linksys also no help as they never returned my call. Calling it quits, will buy a different adapter.
I am having the same problem....constant boot loop.
Im am running Vista.
Same problem on installng a Linksys Wireless N adapter in a Gateway with Vista. When the adapter is plugged in the computer goes into an endless boot loop.
Installing the Linksys WMP300N also put my computer into an endless boot --> no post (meaning no BIOS and no error beeps) --> power off and reboot.
I did manage to get the adapter working by doing something I DO NOT RECOMMEND: I opened my case with the computer off, popped the card loose, turned on my computer and let Windows load to the log in screen, popped the card in, and rebooted. Its not exactly recommended to install nor uninstall hardware while your computer is running, but I build computers regularly and figure I can fix anything I break. This got the card running but only until the next time I shut down the computer (reboots without full power off worked though).
Searching various forums, no one appears to have a workable solution. I can tell you this is not a driver issue so do not waste your time downloading updated versions from Linksys. Something about the physical hardware hangs certain computers during boot possibly due to a short or errors during hardware detections (I tend to lean towards the later since I did have the card running).
Time to go with a USB adapter... or another brand.
