Both top sections fridge/freezer of my side by side are not cold

Both top sections fridge/freezer of my side by side are not cooling, but the bottom sections are cold. The lower fridge drawers are freezing the fruits and vegies while the top shelves are warm, also the ice in the ice maker melted while the lower section kept the food frozen. The top vents have low air volume.

Sounds like a defrost problem. Remove food from freezer section, take the back wall out after removing shelves, and use a hair blower to melt off the ice and frost. Most likely you need to replace the defrost heater.

I have a 23' free standimg dispensing side by side ref. my ref is not cooling but the freeze part is working

when you open the freezer door do you hear the fan blowing?all that happens is the evaporator coil in the freezer gets cold, the evap fan blows the cold air from the freezer and into the fridge side, there are ducts on the bottom left side where the air return sto the freezer,if that's blocked the fridge will get warm, also if the fan is blowing depending on your model you could have a damper,it's in the fridge section up top where the cold air blows into, all it is is a door that opens and closes to let the air in when the fridge section gets warm and then it closes when it's cold enough,if the damper is bad it won't open and let the air in,sometimes it gets stuck in the open position and things start to freeze in the fridge section.if you can't figure it out send the model number and i can see what model you have, open the fridge door, look up on the right side near the ceiling and you should see a tag with the model number.good luck and have a great weekend.also from the bottom up in the freezer, remove the second bin of food and touch the back inside wall of the freezer,if there's frost or like snow on the back inside wall of the freezer you have a defrost problem, let me know what you find.

My bottom freezer gets cold but the top part (fridge) does not. Why? I have an older first addition style

Its defrost problem. When the freezer section gets cold and reaches its required cooling temperature, after that the frost on freezer section starts defrosting and the cooling fan in the freezer section blows this cool air from freezer to fridge. But if the defrost cycle does not start then over ice will get collected on freezer ventilations and that will block the air passing section from freezer to fridge, so the freezer gets cool but fridge section does not cool.Try manual defrost by unplugging the refrigerator from main power outlet for 24 hours then reconnect it and check, if the same problem is noticed again,. If yes then its defrost board problem. The defrost board located in the back of fridge section. You can get required parts from www.repairclinic.com or from online sears part site. ------------- Thank you.

The freezer is COLD..freezes solid. Setting at low. The frige part is not cold and is set at high. Seems everything is going up to the freezer. Unit is just over 1 year old. Drinks are cool but not...

where is the freezer on top, side by side or the bottom.all a fridge does is blow cold air from the freezer to the fridge side that's it,if the fridge is warm there's a problem most likely in the freezer,a plugged drain or when you open the freezer door do you hear the fan blowing,if not you have a bad evap fan motor, also check your warranty it still might be covered.send the model number and i can help you,if you see water under the bottom draws or in the fridge section if the freezer is on top you have a blocked drain in the freezer.let me know what you find and i can help you
