You must connect:
the main out of the 1202fx, or the ctrl room out of the 1202fx at your power amplifier's input (if there is one)
the line in 11/12 of the 1202fx at your pc's audio card line out. (for playing back)
the cd/tape out of the 1202fx at your pc's audio card line out. (for recording)
in case of a cd, connect it's line out at line in 5/6 (or 7/8, or 9/10) of 1202fx's
some mic at the mic 1 (or 2 or 3 or 4) of 1202fx.
That's the way you're going to have control for:
the mic level from channel 1 (etc).
cd level from channel 5/6 (etc).
pc playback from channel 11/12.
master speakers from main mix or ctrl room.
All the above connections are not absolute and may vary depending on your needs.
About freeware softwares for audio recording and editing I can suggest you:
Audacity (homepage)
Wavepad sound editor (homepage)

In case of a problem or clarification about the connection or the cables, don't hesitate to post.

How do i connect a monitor to the 1202FX mixer

Hi, you can use the Control Room outputs to give you an additional output with it's own level control but of you want a separate "mix" rather that overall level you could try the FX send & use the FX controls per channel to set the mix - depends how / if you are using the FX of course! - Else upgrade to a mixer with 2 Aux sends - use one for FX & the other for monitor :-) e.g. some of the Alesis do this! 'Good Luck!

Can i use karaoke mic in harman avr 245 ?

No. The 245 doesn't have a microphone input. Besides, the speakers for a home surround sound system are a bit too delicate for the distortion levels generated by karaoke.

Here's a $300 speaker (yes, $300 for a single speaker) wrecked from teens doing karaoke. They then bust it more messing around trying to push the tweeter cone together so the crack wouldn't be so noticeable

If you still want to go ahead with the idea then you'll need some other bits of gear. For simplicity sake I'd recommend a karaoke CD+G player. It will have mic inputs, vocal echo, and take care of putting the works up on screen.

The alternative is a mixer with effects (echo, reverb) - Cheap is Behringer Xenyx 1202FX

and a source device for music and graphics. This could be your PC, but you'll then need to go trawling for karaoke files and you'll need some software to play them and do the words. Sax & Dotty is pretty good software.

The PC sound needs to be connected to the mixer in a stereo channel. The mic goes in mono on a mic channel. The output of the mixer goes to the AVR on an AUX input.

How to connect behringer ms16 monitors to a xenyx q8o2usb?

Hello, i've read and watched the manual and the xenyx itself and what. there is to understand if you just read everything. Your speakertje come at the output of your xenyx and that thing you can use as audio source or put your soundsources in your mixer and just play it.
  • Built-in stereo USB/Audio Interface to connect directly to your computer. Free audio recording, editing and podcasting software plus 150 instrument/effect plug-ins downloadable at behringer.com
So just use the mixer as your audio interface and your ready. The xenyx is nice for the money, the ms-16 which they call 'studio'-monitots is offcourse nonsens. Nice sounding laptop speakers are they, but in a home studio you need at least speaker 400euro/piece , but you can play with this nicely.

My behringer XENYX Q502USB has SMOKE coming out. And I had just turned it on. It was only hooked to my PC and no intruments. I was not even recording, but I was simply listening to playback.I've used it...

1- buy a fire extinguisher, sjust in case. 2 take it to a shop, preferably one that works Behringer. Could be your regulators, but sounds like something more serious. Sorry...

I am trying to record from xenyx 2442fx to audacity. I am not sure how. I think it has something to do with usb, but do not know how to connect the mixer to the computer to get a good sound. Please help.

First, connect the USB audio interface which came with the Xenyx to a USB port on the PC. Then connect the TAPE OUT from the Xenyx to the IN of the USB audio interface. And connect the OUT of the USB audio interface to the TAPE IN of the Xenyx. You should now be able to record from any of the Xenyx channels. To listen back, engage the control room button which reads CD/TAPE. Contact me if you need any clarification.

Make sure Sonar is set to use the Xenyx for the clock in the audio options pull down menu. It often defaults to your PC soundboard.
