I cant find the correct spark plug and dont have

I need the correct spark plug for my snow blower and cant seem to find it. LOWES, who I bought it from seems to think it was an E3.18, but the shaft was too long and won't even screw in all the way. The manual dosent specify a plug either.

It is a TROY BUILT STORM Series two stage snow thrower. 5.5 horse 24 inch cut.
Tecumseh engine 4 cycle model 31AS6bn2711
96177
Serial no. ILI26B10512000004

Thanx,
Wally K

Go to a farm store near you take the old plug with you and match it up the size with a new one even you don't find the same number look for the one that is the same size.if you still have problems go to contact on Tecumseh.com

Need to find correct spark plug for Troy-Bilt #42027 Snow Thrower.

Several engines were available, you need to look for the number on your current plug - easiest method.

otherwise, you will need to give the motor manufacturer and nameplate info (Tecumseh SnowKing 8HP?)

I just bought a Sears Craftsman snow blower, put gas and oil in it.Itried to pull the starter cord but it will not pull. I then tried the electric starter but it just grinded. Why won t it start?

Sounds like a serious flooding issue, perhaps due to having blower on its side, take out spark plug and place plastic bag over and try pulling over, be careful that it doesn't spark and ignite any fuel expelled out of cylinder.
if that is the case pull over several times blow off plug and try again, fuel might be trapped in muffler so be aware of spray, ignition.
If it doesn't pull over with the plug removed take it back as a valve might be sprung.

We have a snow king 5hp/22'' mtd snow blower that we cant get started. We have cleaned the spark plugs but it seems the fuel is not getting to the plugs to ignite the engine. is there a particular position...

key on choke on....prime it..start.

see if your getting spark first...if you are most likely you have a dirty carb and it needs cleaned well (build up from old gas will make them gummed up and not work at all). try that and then try to start again

I have a UT08580 Mighty Lite backpacker blower with a missing spark plug, I need to know what plug goes in it.

The Homelite part number for this spark plug is 870174001. This number crosses to Champion spark plug RCJ6Y which can be bought at any Home Depot, Lowes, Ace Hardware, etc for about $3

Snow blower spark plug replacement

I would check it at the start of every season and clean it. If you note that it seems to be running rich and might have fouled the plug, you can always pull it and check it again. Probably not a bad idea to check it before you put it away for the season. As for replacement, it depends on condition. I would think that you should get two or three season's use out of it before needing to replace it, at least.

Mtd snow blower no start

HI

Check the ignition.Check the compression(remove the spark plug and ground the plug wire on the engine, seal off the plug hole with your thumb, operate the starter,if thecompression preasure blows your thumb off the hole the compression is adequate for the engine to run.Be careful not to touch the plug wire as this is done.Try to start the engine and see what is happening. Please let me know!
