Which vacuum would you prefer for pet hairs ?

I've been repairing vacuums over 30 years, I prefer a bag vacuum because a good bag vacuum is a lot less maintenance, all the nasty stuff goes in a cheap paper bag (which is actually just a really good great big cheap filter) which you simply remove and gently sit in the trash. It usually takes less than 30 seconds to change bags and only needs done about once a month. You will dump a dirt cup about 40 times compared to changing one bag. Bags compact the dirt while bagless fluffs the dirt. Bagless filters and dust compartments need frequent cleaning and replaced at least once a year to work properly. Bagless vacuums leak more dust and dirt which you will notice on your vacuum. In the long run its much easier and cleaner using a bag vacuum plus they usually last much longer, usually outlasting 3 or 4 bagless vacuums. Much less expense and hassle in the long run.

I have model#UD40350 total pet compact. The lower vacuum brushes don.t turn.

Hi! It sounds like you have a broken or stretched belt. The belt controls the brush roll. If you are using the vacuum on carpet, you need the brushes to spin to agitate the carpet fibers. Below are step-by-step instructions on how to replace your belt. I have also included a link to the instruction manual if needed.

1. Lay cleaner flat and flip to expose nozzle base. To remove nozzle guard, use Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws.
2. Lift and remove brush roll and dispose of old belt if you see one.
3. Slide belt (style 19) onto motor shaft.
4. Place new belt on area of brush roll without bristles.
5. With new belt in place, pull and slide brush roll into nozzle making sure that the brush roll end caps are in the correct orientation.
6. Replace all screws to replace nozzle guard.

Bissell pet hair bagless instruction manual

Do you mean the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser bagless vacuum cleaner? The user manual for this vacuum is available from the product page: http://www.bissell.com/pet-hair-eraser-vacuum/ . Look on the right hand side of the page. The direct link to the English version of the manual is: http://www.bissell.com/assets/0/132/134/228/e5babada-7240-40ea-93c0-90427ed32741.pdf . Note: you will need Adobe Reader or a similar product to access (read/print) the manual.

Bissell has a number of vacuums for cleaning up after pets. Look for your vacuum here: http://www.bissell.com/pet-vacuum/ . The manuals for most are on the product page. For example, there is also the Bissel Pet Hair Eraser OptiClean Cyclonic vacuum. The manual is here: http://www.bissell.com/assets/0/132/134/228/dd4a7280-504f-4483-84a1-bfcc3a239f45.pdf . How do I install a hoover windtunnel vacuum cleaner belt. The bagless one,.

First, take it outside or to the basement. This can get messy. Turn the vacuum cleaner upside down. Remove four 1-1/2" self-tapping screws that hold the bottom cover in place (where the beater bar is.) Remove this and you will see where the belts go; one from the beater bar to a grooved wheel and one from a bowed wheel to a metal spindle way in the back. The beater bar will lift right out. Be sure to clean the threads and pet hair while you're at it.

I have a Lift Off Pet Bagless upright and ever since I **** up a hair tie it hasn't been **** up the dog hair from my carpet. I have gotten the hair tie out of the vacuum but it is still not **** up.

One of the reasons it might not be picking up is because you have a worn belt. The other reason could be that the suction channel is clogged. Did you remove the hair tie you ****up? If you need a replacement belt you can get it here: Bissell Lift-Off Pet Replacement Belt

Vaccum cleaner belt change

If you've put a new belt on and you still are getting a rubber smell, then odds are that your agitator (the rotating brush) is not turning freely, and that means either (a) you need to remove the end caps and remove any hair / debris that is under those end caps, or (2) the bearing(s) of the agitator are bad. Depending on the model of the Sharp (which was not provided), you may be able to order just the defective bearings and replace them (or take the agitator to a vacuum shop to have them do it), or you can (or may need to) order the agitator assembly complete.

Brush will not spin any longer

If the brush won't spin at all, it's either the drive belt or the roller beater brush is clogged. Pet hair can quickly clog a vacuum. Turn the unit over and see if the brush will rotate by hand. If yes, it's probably the belt. Also look for debris and clear as much out as possible. You may have to remove the bottom plate and clean the bottom of the unit out. If you do have to go that far, it would be best to replace the drive belt and thoroughly clean the vacuum.
