Hi I have an lml sensation 125 cc and the plug keeps getting flooded. It also only starts when I keep the plug lead at a 1cm distance but the moment I bring it closer to the plug the engin stops. This obviously affects the idling. I suspect it lies with the oil @ air mixture in the carburettor. Is there a knack to the adjustment of this mixture? I also removed the carburettor to check for dirt. How crucial is the refitting of the carburettor?

Hey June, the correct assembly. cleaning. setting, and adjustments of the carburetor are CRITICAL....Please take the carb to a qualified professional to get it cleaned and set. Ask him which screw sets the idle speed..and you can set it when you reassemble it.. (ONLY adjust the idle speed screw!!)
IF this machine has oil injection, and its been working fine.. do not adjust it...AND .. if the oil is injected into the carb (i've seen one or two bikes with this set-up)..its working fine..the fuel/air will be taken care of when the carb is fixed! Make sure your air filter is clean!!.. and a new spark plug will help!!

Try turning the idle screw which protrudes from the air filter box anti clockwise once it's running. Or try taking your air filter off and drilling two holes (5mm + 7mm) in the little 'heart shaped' depression on the bottom of it.

What would cause motor to suddenly start flooding ?

Garbage in the carbs. They have floats with a needle and seat. Trash gets stuck under the needle and cannot stop the fuel flow. The carbs, fuel system needs to be cleaned out and a large fuel filter installed to keep this from happening again.

Overflow leaking

From your description (keeps overflowing, spark plug always wet), it sounds like it's flooding.
Because of the overflowing, possibly your float is set too high, or some crud is lodged between the float needle valve and it's seat, not allowing it to seal shut when the float bowl is full, then flooding the carb's mixing chamber.

My quad keeps stauling on me i think its cause it could be flooding,,need to fix this problem asap

flowt is sticking or the pin could be bent / jet in carb blocking or blocked fuel filter
THIS SHOULD CURE THE PROBLEM OH ONE MORE THING
if theres no guard on the spark plug could be getting wet shorting the plug

Gears clunk when change on vespa px 125

don't worry -the clunk noise is typical when changing gears on a Vespa 125 PX
- it is due to a very old fashioned construction in the gearbox (1940ies) see pictures:
you have to get used to that or change to a newer automatic type Vespa....

HI, IF IT IS FLOODED, TURN OF THE FUEL AND OPEN THE THROTTLE FULLY AND KEEP AT THIS POSITION WITHOUT THE CHOKE,KICK REPEATINGLY AND IT MAY FIRE EVENTUALY,

RREMEMBER THAT THE CHOKE INITIALY FLOODS THE ENGINE FOR COLD STARTING, SO USING THE CHOKE WHEN ALLREADY FLOODED WILL WORSEN THINGS,

YOU COULD PROBABLY REMOVE THE EXHAUST TO DISPENSE THE FUEL QUICKER AND PUT IN A CLEAN PLUG, I WOULD DO THIS BEFORE I STRIP DOWN THE CARB TO SEE IF THE PROBLEM CLEARS, AS THE BIKE WAS PREVIOUSLY RUNNING IT SEEMS ODD TO START MAKING ADDJUSTMENTS
