Dishwasher not draining properly or not draining at all issues can arise due
to different reasons. Usually, these issues are related to kinked hoses,
knocked out disposer unit (if connected with the dishwasher drain hose) &
clogged drain pump & filter.
Also note that dishwashers do not
drain completely after a finished cycle and this is normal. Dishwashers are
designed to leave some water in the unit to ensure that the heating element
doesn’t overheat. If you suddenly begin to experience a large amount of water
being retained in your dishwasher, you have a problem. Some of the most common
reasons include that the drain hose isn’t working properly, the drain pump
isn’t working correctly, or possibly there is a plumbing problem in your home’s
drain lines.
First check whether the drain is
not clogged or blocked and the line is not kinked. Check all the hoses for
blockages & also clean the air gap. Has the disposer been replaced
recently? If so, chances are the knockout is still in place. Simply remove the
drain hose from the disposer, and knock out the plug. If the disposer has not
been replaced, try removing the drain hose from the disposer and use a wet-dry
vacuum (prepared for water, of course) to **** any water (and hopefully anything
else) from the drain line. Then reconnect the hose, and test the unit. If you
have checked the air gap and the drain hose and can’t locate the problem, then
it is an issue with the drain pump of the dishwasher.
Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or
else revert for further assistance.

Not usually, will have to thaw, then run pan of hot water through drai. Can pull lower vent cover off to make sure it runs into drain pan under fridge. Drain may look clean but tube may not be. Can take wire from hanger to clear as well.
hello, Chances are there is something in the pump and usually it will break off the impeller. You might have to install a new pump. Try unhooking the pump hoses and put the unit in drain and see if the impeller is turning or damaged before buying a new pump. please dont forget to rate me..Thank You..
Hi, Just tilt the washer back and prop it up with some wood blocks. Three screws are right on the front at the very bottom. Use a 9/32 socket to remove them. The front cover slides right off. The drain trapclean out is right in the middle. Turn the large white knob counter-clockwise to remove it and clean. Thank you !!
aplastic tube leading from bottom of tub goes to a pressure switch and is probably plugged w lint. the machine tthinks its full & Wont prceed. clean tube & Switch
in order to check the main drai hose the whole front panel needs to come come off. This is done by removing the lid.
then remove the screws that hold the main control board, then you need to remove the rubber boot from the front panel.then remove the screws that hold the front panel on the machine.
Pump is broken most likely check your drain filter it may have too much debris in it also is it leaking any water. if so the tube to the drain my be ruptured
If it gravity drains, but the pump does not push out the water.......replace the drain pump. I just repaired an 8-year-old Frigidaire dishwasher with this very problem, and although it sounded like the pump was operating, it was not....it was just vibrating. I replaced the drain pump and it now works perfectly. I am a service tech with 38 years experience.
