Is it the tent with the plastic staves? If so, just put them together and insert the rounded end into the equivalent hole on the bottom of the tent. Sit the tent upright with the doors open. Reach into the top of the tent and push/pull the chrome lever at the top until it locks into position. Sometimes you have to wiggle it around a little to get it to lock. When it does lock, you will know it because the tent is rigid. This is a great tent. We have used one for over 40 years! When you want to disassemble it, just pull down on the chrome lever at the top of the tent and reverse the procedure.

I just also received a Thermos Pop Tent, also without instruction. I have followed everything you've said here, but the top will not lock into place. Can you describe to me how it should look when it is locked? Will the staves be sticking out horizontally in each slot, or are they at an angle? I can't tell if I am missing a piece, but I just turn and turn the level and nothing happens.
    Any help is appreciated.

The tent should have the appearance of a dome when the lock is in place. I too have had some problems with the lock on top. I have found that if I have all of the staves connected and then just push directly down on the top of the tent so that it is getting a rounder look to it, the top will usually lock into place. Do not hesitate to push down as much as a foot or a foot and a half. If that does not work, put one hand on the lock through the door opening and hold it firmly while pushing down directly on the top, as described above, and it should lock that way. If the lock is in good shape, you should be able to do just the first procedure and get the lock to stay in place. When you unlock the top to put it away you will know that it is unlocked because the tent will look like it is deflating.Hope this info is helpful. Try it a few times and you will be a pro in no time.

Thanks. I will keep trying. It seems to me that one would have to be extremely tall in order to do what you describe, or perhaps be suspended from a tree? Will keep trying.

Just unzip and open the door and stand inside the doorway and reach up to the top of the tent...I guess you could use a stool if you had to...good luck.

I just got one and had a time setting it up too. then what I found was that you have to make sure that the nut on top is'nt too tight to allow the lock mech. to pull down far enough to get into the lock possition. then what I did was turn it upside down and got everything open all the way then locked it and turned it back over. looks great...

We have an old Thermos Pop-Tent of the same vintage, perhaps even older than those being discussed here. Took it out after long, long years of storage. Managed to get it popped but can't get it to unpop. When we took it out of the bag there was one piece like a bolt with a handle and another like a large washer. I put the "bolt" with the "handle" inside the tent and screwed it into the "washer" on the outside. We managed to get it to pop to a semi-rigid form. Now we cannot get it to un-pop. Help anyone???? I'm wondering also if there is a piece missing. This is my tent but I have never had the responsibility of putting it up.

We bought a pop-up tent and I know it should be really easier to figure out but I am having trouble understanding the instructions. Can anyone help?

Watch this YouTube video which shows how to undo and re-fold a pop up tent. They are pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

Coleman salt lake tent 9 man no instructions please help?

the instructions are useless anyway. you put the red poles through the 2 side bedrooms. the black rods and the black poles with the bends in join together and go diagonally through the middle of the tent. the yellow rods join together with the black poles with the yellow tape round the ends and u fit these from the inside of the front and back entrance then when the tent is up you just hook the bedrooms in. hope this was usefull
