When changing my air filter, I noticed there was a few ounces of oil under it, in the air box. I don't know if it's suppose to be there, or if I have a problem. I wiped it up, then a month later, it was back. Is there a problem?

I have a Compair compressor 105 which was serviced recently. After full service, the compressor now spitting oil through the air filter. This happens the moment it stops after reaching cut off pressure....

I'm no expert, but it sounds like maybe too much oil was put in? Maybe a seal is failing and allowing oil out?
Are you talking about the filter for the compressed air, or the motor? It sounds like the latter.

I own a 1968 Imperial 440 V8. The intake valve push rod of the #1 cylinder bent and was causing knocking noise. I replaced it and the motor ran fine. The #1 cylinder started missing. Again it was a bent...

bent push rods come from improper movement of the rocker and valve
This can be from an incorrect length push rod-- some v8 engines run different lengths for inlet and exhaust
from rocker arm jamming on the shaft or rocker ball
hydraulic cam follower pumping up and jamming the valve spring to a solid block
bent valve stem above the valve guide
valve spring Colette moved or misplaced incorrect rocker for that valve-- some engines run different length rockers for inlet and exhaust
what to do-- if this engine was running all right for some time then the rocker can be omitted. if the problem has been occurring since the cold weather the the oil may be too thick and not allowing the follower to leak down properly
check the follower or replace it , change to a lighter viscosity oil for the duration of the cold weather
unless you have had a recent head change or other mechanical work done the problem will be in those areas.

sounds like u may have a major motor problem. It could be a rod knocking if it is coming from the engine.

Perkins DTA530E/1306CE87 250KVA generator set. Fault is when the unit is started it works for few minutes and the engine cuts off.

Maybe it causes by the following problems:

Fuel System Failure

1. Air in the fuel system
This is a common problem that a diesel generator fails to start normally.
Solution: Check whether the fuel oil pipe connector is loose or not, and ensure that the air is cleared from the fuel system. Loosen the bleed screw bolt on the diesel filter, and then use the manual oil pump to pump the fuel until the air bubble is gone.
2. Fuel Line Obstruction
Solution: Check whether the pipeline is smooth or not.
3. Fuel Filter Clogging
Solution: Clean the filter or replace the filter element
4. The Handle Position of Fuel Injection Pump Is Not Correct
Solution: The handle position should be pushed to no-load when starting the diesel generator set. Rotation speed is about 700-900r/min.
5. Fuel Injector Problem - Little fuel injection or fuel injection is not atomized
Solution: Remove the fuel injector, connect it to the high pressure oil pump, pry the fuel injection pump plunger spring and observe the spray condition. If necessary, wash the injection pump.
6. Oil Supply Problem - Oil transfer pump doesn't supply oil or the oil supply is brokenly.
Solution: Check whether the oil inlet pipe is leaked or not and the filter screen on the oil inlet pipe connector is blocked or not.

I just bought a 03 honda 450 and oil comes out of a tube under the motor when started...why is this? Also how do you check engine oil and transmission oil?

Is this a CRF450 single-cylinder off-road bike? If so:

If it's coming out an overflow, it may be overfull. Not sure on that--haven't seen it before.

To check engine/trans, drain, refill with (670cc w/o filter change; 690cc with filter change), start engine, shut off engine, check sight glass on side of engine. If it's low, add oil and repeat start/shutoff/sight glass routine until it's full. Engine and trans share oil.

If it's still pumping oil out the overflow after you're sure it has the correct amount in it, be sure it's oil and not coolant, battery acid, or gasoline (there is a gas overflow tube on the carb for when the float sticks).

How do you change the oil on a 1985honda aspencade goldwing?

Center stand the motorcycle.First place your pan under the oil filter cover under the front right corner of the machine. Using a six point socket loosen the filter cover bolt and remove the cover. Dump out the oil in the cover being careful to save the spring and the washer that is stuck to the filter. Many Goldwings have lost there washer in a previous oil change , if lost replace the washer. If you desire change the o-ring on the bolt and the o-ring on the cover. Put the bolt back into the cover and place the spring first over the bolt, then the washer, then the filter , so the spring is pushing the filter against the engine. Put the new filter onto the motorcycle and snug up the cover bolt just enough so the oil wont leak out. Do Not Over Tighten The Cover Bolt. Now place the pan under the right rear corner of the motor. You will find a horizontal bolt near the bottom right rear corner of the main block of the motor. It will have an aluminum or copper sealing washer. Take off the bolt and let the oil drain out. When the oil is finished draining , put the bolt back in with a new sealing washer , if needed , and snug up the bolt just enough so that it does not leak or come out. Again do not over tighten the bolt. Now pour in the new oil through the dipstick hole. Be sure you use JASO MA certified motorcycle oil. You will need 4 quarts but you may have a partial quart left over. The quantity is something between 3.4 and 4 quarts. Run the bike and double check the oil level with your dipstick so you do not over fill.

Hey just need to know how much oil the gearbox and engine holds on me crf450 08. just to clarify the gearbox oil goes on the kick starter side and the engine oil on the gear lever side. also should i warm...

there is clutch oil witch goes on the right side and then motor oil witch goes on the left side.. you should run honda oils in that bike hp4 for motor side and honda clutch oil for the clutch its in a tall red bottel..
about the levels, on the motor side(left) use the sight glass and put it half way. on the clutch side use the small screw thats on the clutch cover for a drain fill it till it starts to come out..but the easiest way to do this is to go by the service manuel specs.. you can call your local dealership to get them also
