I need to know how many ounces to make per gallon with craftsman 2 cycle motor oil for ryobi 42 cc backpack leaf blower

the mix is 50:1 so the weight to volume will not matter
if you have a 1 gallon tin the amount of oil will be 1/50 of the gallon
1 gallon =128 oz so a ratio of 50: 1 would be 1 gallon of fuel to 2.6 oz of oil or 1/50 of the gallon calculate the oil required by dividing 128 by the recommended ratio figure (128 divided by 20 or 30 or 40 or 50 to get the oz amount of oil)
the thing is that the mix doesn't have to be exact as long as it is not tool short on the oil
so a mix ratio of between 30:1 to 50:1 will run in 2 stroke engines but a mix of 60:1 will cause problems
A good mix is when you can see a faint oil smoke when operating
too muck smoke and there is too much oil and no smoke too little oil
the major factor is--- do not use e-mix fuels

Why does the oil from my 4-cycle Troy Bilt leaf blower run out through the air filter?

Keep it running and you soon need a new leaf blower. When an engine trows out oil it is just a matter of time till the engine gets hot and stalls. It is not important where the oil is coming from, just let a tech check and repair the blower engine.

Why is my leaf blower smoking

If it is a 2 cycle try to empty the oil and gas out and put new in. If you mix oil in the gas then you might have put too much in.

Hope this works,

Leaf blower will start, run for about 3 secs, then dies. Blue smoke comes out of it.????

blue smoke is the sign of burnin oil try putting oil in thr cylinder about two tablespoons of oil the blower should run long enough to the oil is burned out that will tell it is the rings but sometimes it will free the rings and keep on running if your lucky

Gas is pooring out of the exhust

Needle valve in the carburetor is not stopping the flow of gas. It may need to be rebuilt. You also may have flooded the unit trying to start it.
I would have a shop do a compression test on the engine; it needs to be at least 100 psi to run.

The smoke is oil going in to the combustion chamber, will have to check for broken rings or piston. also if the tractor was stored in a position that the oil would run to the combustion chamber it will do that untill all the oil is burn

Oil Mixture

If it's not stamped on the fuel cap the I would try 50:1 if it smokes a little cut it back to 32:1 its always better to start with a higher mix when not sure any smoking is just the excess oil burning off in the muffler. It's better to have to much oil than not enough when it comes to 2 stroke engines.

Smoke from snowblower muffler

Your gas to oil ratio is 32 to 1. Should cut down on smoke. replace sparkplug at same time.
