I have a dishwasher that I have owned for two years. The dishwasher is not hooked into a garbage disposal. A couple of days ago the dishwasher stopped draining. It washes the dishes and drys them but will not drain the water. I took the inside apart and cleaned all then ran the dishwasher again...it is still not draining and not sure what else to do.

Water still standing in the bottom when dishwasher shut off

I cleaned out the strainer at the rear (which needed the cleaning) as well as the one in the bottom, though it had no apparent obstruction, just gunk that's been sitting in the bottom.

You may find that there are utensils or small objects falling into the water - the sensors pick that up and won't drain

So it sounds to me like it is your "pump" I work for an appliance parts dealer and it looks to me like the pump you need is originally part# 99002750 but then it changes to #6-917641....It runs about $57.00 and you can find this product at www.allbrandonline.com
Hope this helps!

Why is there water standing in the bottom of my dishwasher after it has completed the wash and dry cycles.......

If water remains in the dishwasher after the cycles end, check the kitchen sink drain to make sure it's not clogged. If there's no clog, try pressing the Cancel button; most dishwashers run the drain pump when the Cancel button is pressed.
Check the dishwasher drain line, drain path and drain pump.

GE dishwasher PDWT480R10SS does not fully drain at end of cycle

you need to clean the outside edge of the disk at the bottom of washer and put high heat silicone around the outside edge and let it dry 24 hours before use, if it still doesn't drain all the way ,you will have to replace the disk. I have repaired many of these . good silicon should do it.

The top drawer of my FP dishwasher is not cleaning everything properly. The glasses or dishes in the front left side are always dirty and are covered with crumby dried residue when the cycle is complete....

Hi

If you are noticing that the dishes are not clean, then there are a few things to check for. Check the soap powder if it's kept in a dry environment. Also try replacing the powder with something like a gel or liquid. Next thing to check for is the water pressure and fill valve. Check if the water is filling in and the spray arms are throwing the water with enough pressure. Try and listen to the sound if you hear a proper spraying action sound.

If it seems as a low water pressure then check the fill valve. Now, check if dishwasher is draining the water or not. While the dishwasher is working check whether the dishwasher is draining and there is not much left out water after the cycle is complete. Try cleaning the spray arm with a soft brush. The water temperature plays a major role in cleaning of dishes. The temp should be between 125 and 150 F for dishwasher to clean the dishes. Hope this helps...

I have a brand new whirlpool DU1055XTV5 dishwasher, installed two days ago. After the cycle completes there is about 1/2" clean standing water left in the bottom. It is not just down in the well area,...

Have installer come back to you, sounds like a pump problem, blockage, timer, ...is outlet hose kinked at all? It usually goes into the kitchen sink drain below.

Miele Dishwasher G841 - Water not draining after wash cycle

If you suspect the dish washer, try discharging the drain in a bucket. After the drain cycle check the wash tub. If water is still left, you have to clean the drain filter attached to the bottom. Refer user guide.

The final drain end of the dish washer where you discharge, the fixing junction has to be cleaned, incase it is clogged.

Water didn't drain, left in bottom of washer tub

I had similar problem and it ended up being a clog at the point where the drain hose meets the garbage disposal. I had to unhook the hose and clean out the food that had accumulated (horrible smell). You may have to stick a screwdriver into the garbage disposal hole where the hose fits and clean the food out there also. Then put the hose into a bucket and run a few cycles to ensure the hose is free.

Doesn't drain after "normal cycle" is run

It does sound like you have a switch problem or like the knob is simply getting stuck. Try taking it off and cleaning it if possible. Most common hardware problems with draining you have water at the bottom and it will not drain no matter what untill you clean the drain hose or a valve. Good news is that it doesn't sound like an expensive fix. Good luck.
