In door ice dispenser runs without stopping.

One night opened the firge side door and when we closed it the ice dispenser started running shooting ice as if the triger was activated. Would not stop. Control locked it to stop it. Then unplugged power to the in-door dispenser unit from above . Ice no longer independently disenses but also does not work when trigger is pressed. All lights and buttons on unit work fine.

Why won't ice dispense from ice maker?

Pull out the ice storage bin from the refrigerator. Empty the bin if it is full. Add some ice into the bin. Reinstall bin into refrigerator. Make sure the refrigerator door(s) are closed. The ice will not dispense if the door(s) are open. Press the ice dispenser with a glass underneath it to start dispensing ice. Listen for a whirring sound. If there is a sound, then the auger that moves the ice cubes is working. Check the ice shoot in the door to see if it is blocked with ice. If you don't here any whirring sound the motor that runs the auger is probably bad. Then you will have to replace the whole ice maker assembly.

Ice dispenser stuck on

Either the paddle for the ice/water dispenser is stuck or you have a bad microswitch behind the dispenser.
To stop the ice/water from dispensing open the freezer door and press or hold the child lock button down. Once the unit is in child lock mode you can shut the door without energizing the dispenser.
Another option is to remove the upper freezer door hinge cover and disconnect the wire connector up there. This will remove voltage from the dispenser as well. Then either replace the paddle or switch. Sometimes the paddles/switches will get stuck because of splash up from ice dropping in sugary drinks.

My ice and water dispenser sticks. I have to open

The door flap may not be opening and closing completely thereby trapping the ice. There is a solenoid that operates the door that could have stopped working. Can you hear it?
The hinge on the door could be broken or the bracket it goes in could be broken. You'll have to look to see what's wrong.

Remove the dispenser cover by gently prying starting at the bottom going round and round a little at a time to prevent from breaking it. When it's off the screws will be exposed to access the other components.

GSH25KGRWW dispenses ice/water all by itself! Heard noise last night, and refrigerator was dispensing ice all over the floor!! Attempted to stop by tapping the lever, but this had no effect; pushed water...

as you explained that by opening the freezer door the problem stopped the problem is: that you have a pinched dispenser wire or, two in the area between the door and, the door opening
these wires are low voltage so they are not going to cause a fire
but, if they touch the cabinet due to a bare wire they will ground and, start running the dispenser.
the door cover needs to be removed and, the problem (usually at the door hinge must be found and, corrected i.e. wire taped, shielded etc.

Ice Maker Dispenser Motor Won't Stop Running

There is a plastic part in the dispenser that holds the micro switch that operates the auger motor when you push the paddle. If you're handy with hand tools, you can order the part and replace it yourself. The part is on the outside of the door.

Ice maker dispenses ice without anyone pushing button.

Possible fault with the electrical connector at the bottom of the door as these can corrode or the microswitch behind the paddle has got jammed , try pulling the paddle forward a little . You should hear the switch click when you push the paddle back .

Water stopped running in the dispenser

I had a simular problem! I tried multiple things to make it work!

- bought new filter
- open back of the fridge... (dual outlet water valve)

Finally, I went to a different forum and found a unique idea.

First at the very bottom of the fridge theres a cover remove the cover and you should see the water hose running to the door from the back. In the middle of the hose there a coupler where the hose was spliced by the manufactuer. Now this valve once you separate it will not work correctly, unless you buy a new coupler (4$)... I'm el cheapo, I bought teflon tape for 50 cents (from previous project)... Wrapped around about half dozen times and made sure it wasnt leaking...

Secondly, when you disconnect the coupler no water should shoot out, until you press the water dispenser arm. If water shoots out of the hose on the bottom then you problem is really, really, really easy. You have simplely ice/ or another item blocking water hose to the actual dispenser.

I turned off the frezzer left the door open for an hour or so. I also used my wife's blow dryer on hot, and put it where the ice comes out of the ice maker. I would press the arm peridocially to see if the ice blockage melted yet. REMEMBER: door must be closed for pressure to push on the ice blockage. Thinking back, I might have been finished sooner... I was thinking the water dispenser would work with the door open.

If this doesnt work, then you have other problems... Bad water dispenser selonoid (you can hear this little motor turning even without water), dual water outlet valve maybe broken... Going outside my knowldege level at this point.... But i guess you computer board maybe going bad. Not sure if this computer has anything to do with water dispensing....

Hope this helps! My wife left me alone for about a day or two while she enjoyed the water dispenser...And she broke the vaccum.
