Steam Button Sticks in

The feed valve is possibly stuck with build up from the water.
Try using distilled venegar to clear out the chalk deposits.

If it is stuck, descale it.

Lime scale is the enemy and especially in hard water areas it can cause things to stop working.
Using a descaler might work though often a stripdown and manual cleaning is needed.

I've looked up parts for this iron. Sorry to say the steam button is not listed. The button may be able to be repaired at a small apliance repair center, but I do not know what the cost would.

f the iron heats but steams improperly, inspect the soleplate and clean the vents (see below) and flush sediment out of the steam chamber (see below). If the iron produces too much or too little heat, test the . Also test and, if needed, adjust calibration of the thermostat .
If the iron does not spray properly, inspect and clean the nozzle (see below).
If the iron leaks or spits, clean the steam vents, nozzle, and tank.
If the iron sticks to fabric, clean or repair the soleplate. If the iron stains fabric, clean the soleplate, clean the tank with a commercial cleaner, and use distilled or filtered water.

The stem rod for the steam control is choke or faulty. These prevent the water going onto the sole plate that why no steam.It is possible that there is dirt that has accumulated into the stem of the steam button and is sticking the button. It is better to remove the lid and make a good cleaning to free the movement. use good spray of jet air, use WD40 to remove dirt and free.---------------- Pull the button up. You may have to coax it up; You can pry it back to the up position with a needle. Grasp it firmly and pull it straight off (it is fitted in place by friction only). Below the button is a stem that operates the valve, gently full it back up with a pair of needle nose pliers (careful - the stem is plastic). Replace the button (align the stem into the hole on the bottom of the button. Cycle the button a few times with water in the reservoir.It seems like it sticks when the iron is left unused for a period of time; or the dirt get collected under the button.As if the valve sticks when dry. Brand New Swan steam generator iron S15040N Steam button stuck in the depressed position so steam not turning off

Found this on another site and just tried it. Put 50/50 water and vinegar in the tank and leave it to go through on the constant steam. Give it about 5 minutes then try the button. Mine gave an extra spurt of steam at this point but still continued giving steam out all the time. I refilled with the water vinegar mix and just kept pressing the steam button and letting it go through. Eventually it fixed it and the constant steam stopped. Something to do with a piece of limescale blocking the solenoid but that's all Greek to me! Hope this helps. Kind regards.
