I've had my hp 6735 for a few weeks and from the second time i used it, it wont shut down properly and can sit for hours apparently shutting down. This means i have to switch it off at the mains and i dont think i should be doing this every time as im not sure its safe
Using the button to shut it down is not recomended, but if you do not have programs running that is loading/saving data, it should be ok, in some cases it could damage the computer, you should see if it is under worrenty and get it looked at or call tech support and see if they can help
You have a drivers hanging or software related error occuring
start the notebook
goto start > control panel > administrative tools> system event viewer
then sift thru the error messages you get under the system menu
look at the last time you shut down... submit the reports to microsoft and an explaination will follow to solve your error or hang on shutdown
