Blocked dispenser tube. You need to pull the drawer out ( There will be a clip that you depress in the centre of the drawer when open, that will allow you to slide the drawer out. Clean all the gunge out with a brush and hot water. BTW, if you reduce how much soap you use , you will probably find you don't need fabric softener. Clothes go hard and stiff from the amount of soap that is left in them after the wash has finished. IE/ Towels are the worst for absorbing soap in a machine. In rare cases, water hardness is a factor, but not usually.
Is it nessecary for you to use fabric softener? Somewhere it is nessecary because the qualit of the water.
I seem to get the message that you are not sure what kind of softener you should use.
I use softener somtimes and then I find the brand GREEN FORCE to be very good the softener, the washing up liquid, the surface cleaning
First clean around the rubber with some mould and mildew cleaner for bathrooms - available from most supermarkets.
This is a natural accumulation of waste detergent, fabric softener, fibres and dirt build up that is being attacked by bacteria and eventually decomposes into a sludge / goo and then eventually starts smelling bad as well.
To keep the machine clean of waste build up and to keep any bad odours away:
1.Remove all items from the washer. 2.Open the dispenser drawer and 2/3 cup (160 mL) of liquid chlorine bleach to the bleach compartment. DO NOT use more than 2/3 cup (160mL) of bleach per cycle as this will lead to product damage. 3.Close the washer door and dispenser drawer. 4.Select the Clean Washer cycle or a full wash cotton 104 F wash (40 C). DO NOT use any higher temperature as this will cause unnecessary fumes 5.Press Start and allow cycle to complete. 6.After the cycle is complete, leave the door open slightly to allow ventilation and drying of the washer interior. 7.Repeat the cleaning procedure monthly
My Frigidaire front loader was doing the same thing and also not taking the bleach. I could hear that the water pressure was not real strong when I turned the machine on. I removed the two small screens on the back of the machine where the water supply hoses attached, found they were partially clogged and cleaned them well. The bleach and softener dispensers are now working like new.
You need to replace the cold water inlet valve. If the machine is older than one year it may be clogged on the side that moderates the cold water to the bleach and softener compartment. Replacing the valve fixed the problem. During the cycle when the softener dispenser fills it should fill quickly and no or little water should be seen in the soap dispenser area. If a lot of water goes into the soap dispense and little into the softener area the valve is clogged.
