Here is the link to your service manual, when you click on it and bring it up...it is a pdf file so you'll need adobe or another pdf reader, go to page 40, that is the directions for resetting and removing the BIOS/hard drive password. Good luck

step 2. in other machine use hirens boot cd and open bios password generator
step 3.- choose te option 2 and put your error code.

I have acer aspire 4315.i have a problem in winows.i want enter bios set up,asks a password.but i dont knw the psasword.how can i remove the bios password

What you need to do is Flash the BIOS.

With this utility you should be able to FLASH BIOS to factory default and enter BIOS without password. Be extremely careful to follow the steps exactly, because one false move and your system could be rendered useless.

How would i reset my bios password for a 5542 acer aspire notebook?

Assuming you set the password, go to the BIOS, enter your current password, then go to the password tab and put in a new one.

If you forgot your password and if you have the receipt, a local non-big-box store could probably reset it.

I have an acer aspire 5520, with a la 3581p mainboard, my kid entered a bios password and can't remember it. i need to find out how to reset the bios? HELP ME PLEASE

the only way to reset the bios is to open the bottom case of the laptop short circuit the bios by moving the bios jumper pin to 2-3 or removing the litium battery for a second, it will reset the date time and password
