Sounds like the either the ribbon supply or ribbon take-up pressure needs to be adjusted.
Supply Spindle: a pair of set screws near the outermost point on the spindle locks the adjustment in place. Loosen the set screws, then move the center pin in or out to change the spindle pressure. Tighten the set screws then test print

Takeup Spindle: a pair of set screws locks the large adjustment nut in place. Loosen the set screws, then tighten or loosen the large nut, tighten the set screws and test print.

My printer always start printing short so that the lables end up on two pieces instead of one

We must establish whether the problem is a moving label or just that the labels are not aligned properly. Is hte printing split across the two labels consistant regardless of hte number of labels printed? If so, then the lables are not aligned properly. The user manual has the procedure for aligning these. This is part of the setup procedure.

If hte first line of the labels changes position on subsequent printings, then either the label size is not defined properly or the format being used is not correct. I don't have the manual handy at the moment so I can't give you the particulars, but if you could update this and tell me which of the 2 conditions you are experiencing, I will look up the specifics in the morning.

Thanks,
Dan

HI,when I print , the printer do some label , after go in pause mode automatically message=" = continue = reprint" but after 1o label , the printer give a second error "out of ribbon" .Can you help me...

Hello

After many efforts I have found that in the new PX6i models, the "transfer ribbon mechanism" (the wheel that is responsible for making the ribbon roll) appears to be defective. What happens is that when rolling back in order to keep the ribbon stretched, instead of stopping at the fixed point, it continues to roll back a bit. After a few prints, this causes an "out of ribbon" error.
The solution: replace this part with a VALID part (a new one).
Good luck!

GenicomTally T6215 line printer not printing on edges

If your still having problems? 1st make sure the gap is not to tight(cause the to ribbon to drag up with paper). 2nd While printing in test mode, carefully lift up or push down on the ribbon where it comes out or where it goes back in the catridge. After doing the 2nd you should see the exact same thing as will stop printing on right and left edges. Remove the ribbon, their are 2 philip screw on the left and right side of the ribbon deck, loosen them(they will not come all the way out, held on by clips) lift the rbbon deck up and reseat it... tighten the screws back down. last you may have some bad ribbons...

No print with ribbon

Did you put a ribbon in your printer? The zebra does both direct thermal and thermal transfer, but you need a ribbon to get it to print AND have to change the settings to let the printer know that it needs to use the ribbon instead of direct thermal.

Dual sided printing

First, go to the print drivers and make sure that you have a dual sided ribbon selected (YMCKOK). Make sure you have the print driver set to print two sided cards.

"warning Ribbon In" error message

Had the same problem with a ZM400. As stated in the User manual (can be downloaded http://www.zebra.com/id/zebra/na/en/index/resource_library/manuals.results.html?FRRBarcodePrinters=6882), warning "Ribbon in" is usually caused by the wrong printing method (thermal direct instead of thermal transfer [which should be selected for ribbbons]). My error disappeared after choosing "thermal transfer" directly on the printer. For network printers this needs to be set by an admin in the network settings for the the printer to solve the problem permanently.
