DR-MV100B will not read disc

When putting in a pre-recorded dic in dvd player, message comes up "reading". After about 4 minutes it ejects and says "cannot read disc. check disc". I have tried many dvd's that I have played in it before. Any suggestions?

You can try downloading free players onto your computer as long as your computer has installed DVD drive, such as Leawo Blu-ray Player, RealPlayer, 5KPlayer, etc.

If your DVD player is quite old for using, maybe the lens has some issues. You can try to clean the lens but it might be somewhat difficult. Or you can try downloading free players onto your computer as long as your computer has installed DVD drive, such as Leawo Blu-ray Player, RealPlayer, 5KPlayer, etc.

It could be a dirty laser. Try running one of those laser cleaning disks through it. That might help

Displays message unknown disc no matter what disc I put in...

FIRST, try inserting a standard lens cleaner, this is a disc with a fine brush on the play surface, as it attempts to read it will clean any lint from the lens. then try a regular disc. if this does not take care of the issue, it is beyond the scope of this venue and needs professional service. (if you are skilled with dangerous, and DEADLY voltages that are inside consumer devices, you can pull the cover and check that all the plugs and connectors are firmly seated AFTER disconnecting the unit from the WALL/ MAINS power. If this doesn't work the old adage of NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE comes into play, and replacement may be cheaper than repair. IF you do not do any recording with it, a straight DVD player will be cheaper. This may also be a good time to look into a net connected Blu-Ray to take advantage of streaming media on your TV.

I am just wondering whether the unit has got condensation inside.

Just try to do this as a process of elimination.

Take the dvd and place in a warm room.Plug it into the mains (try and eject disc if not leave in) and leave for 2-3 hrs
Give it another try..fingers crossed.

Hi,

this is due to the settings of your player.
you should have settings for SP ( Standard Play ) LP ( Long Play ) et,c.
the quality may differ slightly, but you need to refer to your user manual for how to adjust the recording times. also if your dvd supports DL ( dual layer disks ) this will obviously double the recording times.

I have an LG DVD Recorder Model DR 389. It first stopped recording (was getting message "regional code incorrect" & was playing DVDs. Now when a recorded or pre-recorded DVD is put in - it just keeps saying "Reading" .... and doesn't play.

Could it be the lens ?
