Check 470 uF 450 V in the power supply. I don't know if the chassis is the AE-5, but I had a similar case and the capacitor was bad.

Please tell me if it worked.

The high voltage power supply is going bad on both units.. Pretty soon, it won't power up at all. For a fact.
Don't try to replace the power supplies, TV's are too cheap.

SOURCE: philips lcd 37pf9431d/37

finally got some help from customer service ----
the code flashing one then two red lights is for an upgrade of the software ---- you can go to their website and download a current fix to that problem onto a thumb drive----
\the power problem is caused by a bad power board--- you can replace them for any where from 130-330.00
dont need a service tech - take off cover and easy to replace---can find part on parts store.com for philips televisions --- used is about 130 and new about 330 -- used is a refurbished unit and works just as good as the new one

SOURCE: No Picture & No sound. Red LED, Green LED, Red LED.

If the power supply outputs are good! Then I would say the back light inverter is bad! If the screen stays black and does not come on.

PANASONIC VIERA TX55as802b will not switch on red power/standby light blinking once every 3-4 seconds have been told its the screen and it cant be repaired can anyone confirm this or help.thanx

The manual says nothing about the power light flashing at that rate. Unless an expert tells you that's the specific indication for a failed screen, I wouldn't believe it. Most TV's will give you sound even if the display has failed.

Try resetting it by unplugging and waiting 60 seconds before plugging it back in.
If that doesn't work, most likely the power supply board needs to be replaced. Or possibly the T-con board.

If you don't know what you're doing, DON'T OPEN THE TV UP TO FIX IT, THERE ARE HAZARDOUS VOLTAGES ON THE POWER SUPPLY BOARD, EVEN WEEKS AFTER THE TV IS UNPLUGGED!

If you don't know how to do it yourself, find some local Electronic repair shops, get quotes, try to find reviews on the shops.

Ways to fix red lights blinking four times

Red Power LED
flashes once
every two
seconds.
OR
Red Power LED
flashes four
times, once
every second,
followed by a
two second
pause.
None Power failure
(power supply is
overloaded).
1. Check that the voltage selector,
located on the rear of the power
supply, is set to the appropriate
voltage. Proper voltage setting
depends on your region.
2. Open the hood and ensure the 4-wire
power supply cable is seated into the
connector on the system board.
3. Check if a device is causing the
problem by removing ALL attached
devices (such as hard, diskette, or
optical drives, and expansion cards).
Power on the system. If the system
enters the POST, then power off and
replace one device at a time and
repeat this procedure until failure
occurs. Replace the device that is
causing the failure. Continue adding
devices one at a time to ensure all
devices are functioning properly.
4. Replace the power supply.
5. Replace the system board.

Can you help i have the asda rch7h10 smart price remote controls and have lost the insrutions i changed the battries and now they need re programing

Switch the TV on.
Press the Set and TV buttons together and the red LED should light continuously. Then press the power button and then press it every time the LED flashes (about once a second).
When the TV switches off, press the TV button on the remote. Switch the TV on with the remote and check that the other buttons work as expected. If not, repeat the process...
I had the same problem: worked it out by trial and error ;-) Hope it helps...
