SOURCE: The turntable on my microwave/convection

You can see and hear a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.

If yours won't rotate or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or plastic coupler.

To replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover of the oven. You may have to cut the cover off with snips, then use a screw when reassembling it.

We have the full service manual for this oven, and have uploaded it to our site here.

The best place to order Sharp parts is Tritronics.

High voltage power supply for the magnetron is likely problem. Multi-thousand-volt section--be careful.

Generic answer:

You probably have to remove the case. DO NOT TOUCH THE SILVER CAN - LETHAL. There are probably 8 phillips or torx head screws to remove the cover.

Alternatively, their may be access inside, where I would look first.

Let me know if this works.

How do I replace the inside light on my R-520 ks Sharp Microwave

I don't know the exact model but most MWs have a plastic panel that pops off easily. Some, however you must take the cover off the MW oven. Just a tad more difficult.

When I shut my microwave door, the light staays on and the carousel starts going around. I can program my cooking time but, it will not engage and star cooking. Meanwhile, the carousel continues to go...

It's probably a bad door switch or door switch mount, probably the top one, which is the door sensing switch.

Are you talking about the light inside the microwave? The front vent I think will allow you to get to the bulb. Should be a couple of small scrrews holding the vent cover on, remove them take vent off. Start it up again and see if the light bulb wiring or socket is arcing

HV Transformer and Maganatron

I would not recommend an inexperienced measuring secondary voltage on the high voltage transformer! The filament winding produces about 3VAC but the high voltage winding produces well over 2000VAC! And that can be instantly lethal!

I would only recommend measuring the resistance (in ohms) of the windings with power off and capacitor discharged.

We have the full service manual for this model and have uploaded it to our site here to help you.

You will need the free Acrobat Reader to view or print it.

The part number listed by the distributor for the high voltage transformer is RTRN-A527WRE0 (zero on the end, not "oh") which is the same number shown in the service manual.

The two continuity checks on a magnetron are across the filament terminals, which should read about zero ohms, and from each terminal to the case, which should read open or infinity.

Even if a magnetron passes these continuity tests, it can still be bad.

The turntable on my microwave/convection oven Model R930AW-P doesn't turn. The turntable motor shaft moves freely, but when the turntable is on it and cooking food, the turntable doesn't move.
