Regarding Canon MX922 printer. Videos explain and demonstrate how to remove the printer head. It appears to be quite simple. When I attempt removal following their directions, I cannot budge it. Help.

SOURCE: How to remove printhead from canon i860

The gray-colored arm (it's not that small) is to the right of the cyan cartridge. It is the arm or extension of the gray-colored hinged cover. Remove all ink cartridges, lift the gray-colored arm up, and pull the print head out. Clean the print head with a cotton ball soaked with water or rubbing alcohol. Dry and re-install the print head.

SOURCE: Figuring how to install new print head in my Canon iP90 printer

The important point is moving the head to the left, or sliding it left or right, so you can actually SEE the LEVER. It is hidden otherwise and what appears to be the obvious lever on the top is the wrong lever. If you have pressed the correct lever the unit removes very easily. If it is hard and you cannot make progress chances are you have not found the correct LEVER!

Canon mx922 error message needs repair

It is likely that the print-head temperature sensor is detecting an over heat. If that is the case, start thinking about a replacement machine as the printheads are expensive to replace.

Solution: The IP2700 may require repair

Unfortunately, the issue you describe seems to indicate that your product requires repair service. Although it does not say it in the explanation it is possible your ink pad has reached capacity and requires replacement by a technician.
If you wish to attempt changing the ink pad yourself there are some video demonstrations on You-Tube for canon printers. Here is one link but there are similar videos that you may wish to view before attempting. Trust this is helpful. Don't forget to vote.
