There is a reset button this unit. It's close to where the heating element comes out of the black box. You have to slide it out of the base to press it with a pin or something thin. Also, make sure the box slides into the base all the way. There is a safety switch in one of the channels that slides into the base. If the unit is not in the base it won't turn on.

SOURCE: wells deep fryer won't heat

Is the oil coll and it still doesnt reset? If so the hi limit is bad, which is the reset. If you gain acess to it you will see 2 wires.Connect these wires and it should heat.HOWEVER this is a saftey device that prevents the oil from getting too hot and catching on fire.

about the Lid, make sure that you have the control panel firmly in the two grooves and the lid will stay shut. If it isn't in the right grooves, the lid will not shut. My husband had to point that out to me when I was having the same problem.

SOURCE: fryer quits heating have to hit reset switch

This button should be a high limit switch. If it is a small red button mounted to a 2" x 2" or so device. You most likley have an issue with the thermostat letting it over heat. The best thing to do would be to replace both the thermostat and the high limit for safety reasons.

It will not turn on

Hi Woodman22191,
I suggest that you do a couple of visual inspections first before doing anything drastic. Here's a list of things that you should check :
- Is the magnetic cord assembly properly attached to fryer socket ? - Is the electrical cord assembly plugged into electrical outlet? - Is the Power ON/OFF Switch is set to ON? - Is the Heating Element Assembly correctly assembled? Make sure Heating Element Assembly is properly installed on base. - Are you using too much or too little oil in the pot? Make sure that you use the recommended amount of oil in the oil pot.
If these things above does not fix the problem, you may need to Reset the Fryer. - Press Reset on Heating Element/Control Panel by inserting a paper clip or any small pointed object into the opening labeled RESET.
I hope this solves the problem. All the best to you. Good luck.

I am looking for a power cord for my hamilton beach model#3503o deep fryer

You can find replacement cords for many counter top appliances at most appliance and building supply stores. Try Ace, Home Depot, Lowes. Take the cooker with you to make sure you are getting the correct cord.
