How to replace a t5i bulb for my pop up flash? I was shooting macro with a metal reverse ring and I was shooting grains of salt near the microwave and the bulb just popped loud! I don’t know if it was from the microwave or just coincidence but does Anyone have any idea how much the bulbs cost and what model bulb is it? Clearly and hopefully you can see the shards of glass in the pop up flash

SOURCE: need replacement bulbs for over-range hood

These are 20W 120V bulbs with what's called the intermediate base. The new Panasonic part number is ANE6030540AP and you can get them at Tritronics at http://www.wehaveparts.com or Vance Baldwin at http://www.vancebaldwin.com You should also be able to get them at local appliance parts stores, Lowe's (or similar) or even a large grocery store. You can also use Sharp part # RLMPT0003YBE0 from either of the above sites.

SOURCE: Microwave light bulb out

This is simple, and "FixYa" technical staff has clearly not looked at our model.

Take off the vent across the top (three long screws) to expose a single screw over the keypad.

Remove the single screw, and the whole keypad consile will lift up and off, likely hanging by a plastic tab/support on the bottom.

Now you can twist the light bulb plug to remove it from the support structure, change the bulb, and replace all that you've done.

Simple.

CHANGE THE BULB

Remove the top grill assembly. It is usually held on by 2 screws going down through the cabinet top. You may need to tap the grill to the left slightly to get the tabs to release. Once the grill is off, look near the middle of the top edge of the microwave frame for 1 screw that looks like it goes through a metal lip. It will be right above the inside light bulb area. remove screw and then pull the metal tab towards you. The complete light bulb assembly will slide up and out towards you. Replace bulb and reassemble microwave.

How To Change The Bulb In An Advantium 900 Watt Microwave

You'll need to open the door, and remove the screws that hold the microwave face to the cabinet face.
Next, you'll need to remove the microwave from the enclosure. Remove the metal shroud that encases the microwave, and the bulb may then be replaced. Reversing the process gets you back to where you started.
After the second time of pulling the microwave out, I measured and cut a hole in the sheet metal shroud, larger than the access to the light fixture. I bought a metal electrical box cover, and used sheet metal screws to completely cover the hole. This allows me to slide the microwave out about 6" to access the light, instead of the lengthy process of removing the microwave entirely. If you decide to do this, I recommend that you mark the sheet metal while the shroud is loosely fit on the microwave, and cutting your hole away from the microwave, to avoid getting metal filings into the microwave.
Your bulb is a 120 volt halogen, 35 watts with a GY8.6 base. I bought mine at Lowe's, and their item number is 15797, manufactured for Bright Effects. When installing the new bulb, be careful not to touch the bulb, as the oil on your fingers is enough to degrade the bulb, and it will not last as long as it should. Instead, wrap the bulb in toilet paper or a paper towel, leaving the terminals on the base protruding.
Sorry for the bad news, but glad that I could offer a better alternative. By the way, a technician will do the same thing, without the hole, for about $200.

The cover has to come off the microwave to access the bulb. There are several screws around the back and sides. Remove these and the cover should lift off, revealing the bulb. For your own safety, make sure that the microwave has been unplugged from the outlet for several hours before attempting this repair.

Kenmore elite microwave over the range type keeps popping breaker, and there's nothing else on the circuit. Is it shot its only 4 years old

this could be caused by a shorted diode or bad transformer in the unit itself, diodes are generally inexpensive repairs and are fairly easy to perform. Transformers are quite a bit more expensive and can be more difficult to replace. The diode is the most common problem. To test the diode you can either use a ohm meter or a "AA" battery, short piece of wire or rolled up alluminum foil, scotch tape and a flashlight light bulb, to use the bulb technique simply dismantle the flashlight until you can easily access the 2 connectors of the bulb (one located at the bottom of the bulb and the other being the metal bulb casing) then take the twisted up alluminum foil and tape one end to one end of the battery ensuring the is a good connection, then tape the other end of the alluminum foil to the metal casing of the light bulb, after these steps have been performed, remove the diode from the microwave completely so all u have in your hands is the diode (they are usually connected with a flat terminal and a screw), if 2 identical flat terminals are used, be sure to make a small diagram of how the diode came out (if the white line on the diode is connected to the microwave transformer, be sure to install it the same way, improper installation can cause more damage!) now that you have the diode out simply touch one end of the diode to the battery and the other end to the untaped connector of the light bulb, if the light comes on, reverse the diode, if the light is still on when reversed the diode is short, if the light doesn't come on when reversed the diode is fine, current will only pass one way through a good diode and will pass through both directions if its bad, and in very rare cases the diode will not conduct in any direction. if the diode is fine I would have to suggest taking it into a service center or considder buying a new one as other parts can be in the $70-$160 range. hope this helps.
