Can i tell if a picture was taken from the same camera

If you have the originals, you can pull up each picture in a photo editing program and look at the EXIF metadata. This will tell you the make and model of the camera. If they're different then obviously the pictures were not taken with the same camera. If they're the same, then they may have been taken with the same camera, or simply with two different cameras of the same make. Most cameras don't put in anything to distinguish individual cameras.

If the photos have been edited in any way, or simply have had the metadata removed, then you won't be able to do as much.

There are some cameras that do put in identifying data and do so in a secure way as to prevent tampering. However they're expensive, intended for uses where the authenticity of the photos have to be provable in a court of law.
