SOURCE: blue screen-tv doesnt recognize dvd player
Hello crawf and Saffyrre,
I have seen this issue before, and I have good news and bad news. The good news is the problem is caused by an electronic bypass circuit, The circuit is between the AV derived from the RF input connector (for cable TV and off air TV) and the AV derived from the DVD player Audio Video input jacks. Hence the problem of being able to plug the DVD into other TVs and it works. Now my question to each of you is; Does the TV work on off air and or Cable TV.
This might range from a cold solder joint on the circuit board, to a component actually going bad. I would suggest taking the set to a qualified TV repair shop and getting an estimate. If the cost is right have it repaired, if the cost is not right replace the TV with a new one.
If you do decide to replace the TV could you both send the bad TVs, so as I could figure out what is causing this problem, design a fix for it and then provide an actual online solution to this problem because this is happening way to much for it not to be a systemic problem with all of these Hello Kitty TV sets.
Thank you both,
I hope this helps,

DOES YOUR TV HAVE AUX RCA INPUTS OR JUST A STANDARD ANTENNA CONNECTION. CAN U ACCESS CHANNEL 3 OR 4 ON THE TV..HOW DO U ACCESS UR VIDEO INPUTS. A POSSIBLE SOLUTION IS TO GET A MULTI INPUT SIGNAL SELECTOR FROM RADIO SHACK THAT WILL TAKE THE RCA AND CONVERT TO STANDARD ANTENNA CONNECTION TO PLUG INTO THE PORT

Yes, an hdmi connection is the very best. However, if you are not able to connect your dvd player the other way, just choosing hdmi or not might not solve your issue. Hdmi connections allow upconverting and thus a higher picture quality for you.
