E4 Error Code
The E4 display is not actually an error code, but indicates that the air conditioner has entered defrost mode. This occurs when the unit detects ice on the evaporator which located behind the front grille. Once defrosted, the air conditioner will resume normal operation.

the only way i have been able to get around this was to clean the insides with denatured alchohol the ethyl and methyl only,or the plastics may melt so check the ingredients it in the paint section.Then turn it off and on and off and on until it works, for me on average 6 or 7 times. I can only pull off the still pics though it isn't reliable enough for me to record. also mine has a thing for eating my tapes. But if you have old tapes you can atleast save pics or movie to your computer.
