You can save them to a pc and then with the aid of iTunes software transfer them to your iPad, 2. You can save them to Google drive and get them into your iPad the advantage of this is that whenever you need them you can always get them even if you lose your device.
The simplest way is just to use a laptop for storing all the pics and then you can share it from there easily. Else you can start mailing all your photos and can download it to iPad (But this is too hectic).

When you connect your ipad to computer Itunes must be recognized it .
Make sure itunes version 9.1 installed.

Make sure ipad is enough charged.Try different usb ports.Makes ure usb cable is working fine.
Uninstall usb drivers from computer then check.For that press windows key +R so you can see run type in run "devmgmt.msc" then press enter.
Then you can see device manger uninstall all usb drivers 1 by 1 then it automatic install usb drivers.
