generally it requires an appliance electrician to carry out iron repairs
if you are successful to get it apart , parts will be non existant
with most small appliances outside warranty --junk it and get a new one
Sunbeam Model: gcsbcs-212
The outlet cord was bad (pinched from falling off the ironing board) inside where the cord goes into the iron.

4. Remove 2 screws

If the GCSBBV-200 is similar to other Sunbeam steam irons, fill the iron when it is cool and unplugged. With the ironing surface flat on the sole plate, set the Steam dial to dry and the Fabric Select dial to Min. Then use an easy-pour measuring cup to pour water into the opening at the top front of the iron. Make sure not to fill past the maximum fill level. (Tip the iron up as if you were resting it between passes with the iron to check the level.)
I hope this helps.

(Sunbeam has the manual for the GCSBBC-395 on their support site: http://www.sunbeam.com/service-and-support/product-support/instruction-manuals/garment-care/other/garment-care-other-manual.html . The direct link to the manual is http://demandware.edgesuite.net/aamb_prd/on/demandware.static/Sites-sunbeam-Site/Sites-sunbeam-Library/default/v1425126445413/documents/instruction-manuals/160253.PDF . Check how similar your iron is to the newer models.)
If I was you I would either go to the Sunbeam site and in the search box enter the model name and number and get a download a manual for fixing the iron or troubleshooting problems. If that don't work Send the Iron back to the company for a new one.
Fill it with white distilled vinager and sey it in a shallow pan with enough of the same vinager to cover the shoe. Let that sit overnight then try the clean function again. Eric
