You have to remove the black cap on the back of the tool (item 4) and I believe you may also have to remove the back part of the switch handle (item 3). Here is a parts diagram so you can see where the brushes are located. DeWalt DW130V diagram
Here is a parts diagram. Item 52 is the ball. It fits behind item 49. Item 49 has a groove machined into it so that when it is moved it allows the ball to move away from the blade far enough to insert the blade. Once the lever is released the ball moves back and locks the blade into place.
There is no point asking. If your spare part is also type 1 or type 3 compatible then who cares? In case you find a spare part that is only compatible to the type 3 machine and yours is type 1 then you should find the type 1 one because this is only compatible with your machine because that spare part is not a part of the type 1 machine.

is this a north american model.all i can find is model DC727 & DC728 model. charger model 9116 & battery is DC9096 may work.charger volts 110v ac. if your buying the individual part like batt & chgr its more expensive than buying the whole kit is cheaper. hope i answer your question
