Change your input source. You are probably on Input Source "TV". My HDMI cable is plugged in INPUT 4 so make sure that your TV is set to the right INPUT.

If the tv does all those symptoms but after some seconds the tv works and stays doing the job. THen the tv has a slow microprocessor to recognice the different resolutions or video inputs.
But if the tv cannot do anything and stay aout of signal forever. send the tv to the waranty. (no waranty? you have to use the component input instead to have digital signal reproduced

We had the same red "pixilation" problem with our new Vizio 47" set. Read within this site for our solution (posted by Cavanaju): Call Vizio and have them come out and replace the LVDS cable and the main board. They will have to order and bring in the parts, which will involve them unscrewing a million screws to take off the entire back of the tv and replace that calbe within it all and the main board. It will then be just fine! (I hope...we just had ours fixed 4 days ago and so far, so good...) Hope this works. Seems to be a factory defect they have had with this set. Good luck!

It sucks to see ALLLLLLL these solutions, when I have the solution. Turn off DEEP COLOR in the video settings. It will immediately stop. If it doesn't, then you don't have the typical snow/flickering problem.
