1.If you are using the multi-purpose tray, close it.
2.Open the front cover while pressing the open button.
3.Remove the toner cartridge.
Immediately place the removed toner cartridge into the original protective bag or wrap it with a thick cloth.
4.Holding the green tab (A), tilt the transport guide toward you.Do not take your hands off the transport guide until it moves back to its original position in Sep 6.
5.Remove the paper by pulling it gently.
Remove the jammed paper as horizontally as possible to prevent unfixed toner from spilling.
6.Move the transport guide back to its original position slowly.
7.Install the toner cartridge.
Push the toner cartridge into the printer firmly until it touches the back of the printer while aligning (A) on both sides of the toner cartridge with the toner cartridge guides inside the printer.

SOURCE: Paper Jam

I have just had the same problem on one of these Canon MF4150 machines.
The manufactures warranty on our machine had expired just one week before this happened so I had to fix this myself.
The problem we had (which is very likely to be the same cause as yours) is when we removed some torn jammed paper, it had somehow pulled off a spring from inside the machine. The spring was linked to the paper jam sensor.
It does involve a LOT of work to fix it, and unless you are very 'techy' it may be quite a difficult task to do this for the 'average' person.
I had to completely disassemble the machine: Take off the front first (lift up the cover and there is 2 screws at the front and 2 clips on the bottom of the machine) Then remove the 2sides and finally the top (screws should be easy to see, to get the sides off, un-clip along the front edges and gently move them outwards and slide them backwards to release the clips on the back) being careful with the wires going to the scanner part). Then look for the fuser unit which is near the top at the back, there is a black rounded cover over the fuser. To remove the cover, look for 2 small clips one at each side and unclip the cover and gently lift upwards.  Under the cover on the left side you will see a small plastic rod which goes from the left side to a small tab in the middle, if you look about half way along that rod you should see a tiny spring, make sure this is clipped on properly and that you are able to rotate the rod and it should spring back to the proper position when you let go.
Once this is done, put it all back together again and it should work fine.

I'm sure a lot of other people probably have this same problem too so I hope this helps someone.

SOURCE: PAPER JAM

laser printers dont use ink.
you will have to check the sensors. first the one where you put the media (paper) then check the registry one (remove the cartridge and you should see it) then the fixing on, from the back it has a small cover you can open an dthen a pair of green coloured levers to remove any jammed paper in fixing (the hot ***'y) then check the delivery sensor right where normally you see the page printed out and coming your way. there should not be any media remains anywhere. also if you copier is dirty it may also be causing this. try to clean it with compressed air.

SOURCE: canon pixma MP620 paper jam

Hello! I have solved your problem! The first thing you need to do is extend the back paper holder all the way up. This should uncover a long rectangular hole. There is a plastic piece with 2 arrows pointing to the right on it (if you are looking at the back straight on). Simply push them to the Right and it will pop up on the Left side. You can now lift that piece out and VOILA there is your misfed paper! Just reinsert the rectangular piece back in after you have taken the misfed paper out! -Gary Maples

How to fix error code 5100 for canon ip6320D. it appearing while head cleaning.

This is either due to a physical error caused by a paper jam, or incorrectly seated ink. To fix:
Press down and hold the "On/Off" button, which is located on the printer's operator panel, for one second. Wait 15 seconds and then tap the button again. Attempt to print or scan a document.
Check the paper feed tray on the front end of the Canon MX700 to see if there is any paper visibly stuck inside the printer. Open the printer cover by gripping the front edge of the printer and lifting upwards.
Grab the edge of the jammed paper and gently pull towards you to remove the paper from the paper feeder. Unplug the Canon's power cable and USB cable, and then turn the printer around.
Pull off the rear plastic cover tab and check if there is any visible paper jam. Grab the edge of the paper and gently pull toward you until the paper is removed.
Push the rear plastic cover tab back into place, and reconnect the power cable and USB cable. Attempt to print or scan another document to see if the error is resolved.
Lift open the printer's cover again and wait for the ink carriage to slide into view. Press the "Push" button on the front of the first ink tank. Pull the tank out and then push it back into place to ensure it is properly seated.
Repeat the process with the other three ink tanks, and then close the printer's cover. Power the printer off and then back on again.

Hi,
The paper jam could be in three places.
First:

Open the cover of fixing section, its above bypass, and check for jamed paper

Second:

Open the transfer cover, these cover has handle and it goes by pulling toward you, and check for jamed paper.

Third:

In hight of first paper cassette, on left sideway of copier, beaneath the bypass are small door, open it and check for paper jams. Be sure that you closed them properly because if they arent closed the check printer cover message will arrise.

Paper jam in canon MP600 Printer

If you cannot see the paper jam, perhaps it is inside the machine:

1) Open the rear cover and inspect the area for any bits of paper that might impede the paper path

2) On the front of the machine, pull out the cassette (paper tray) and inspect the cassette area for any paper jammed inside.

The paper is jammed..

Hi there,

Cause and solutions for paper jams

Cause 1 : Paper jammed in the Paper Output Slot, the Auto Sheet Feeder, or the Front Feeder.
Soultion : Remove the paper following the procedure below:
1) Slowly pull the paper out, either from the paper source or from the Paper Output Slot, whichever is easier.
* IF the paper tears and a piece remains insde the machine, open the scanning Unit (Printer Cover) and remove it.
After removing all paper, close the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover), turn the machine off and turn it on again.
-Be creful not to touch the components inside the machine.
*If you cannot pull out the paper, turn the machine off and turn it back on. The paper will be ejected automatically.
2)Reload the paper in the machine, and press the OK button on the machine.
If you turned off the machine in step 1 all the print jobs in queue are cancellled. Reprint if necessary.
if you cannot remove the paper or the paper tears inside the machine, or if the paper jam error continues after moving the paper, contact your Canon service representative.

Cause 2 : Landscape credit card-size paper jammed inside the machine.
Action : Do not load credit card-sized paper in the landscape orientation.
Slowly pull out the paper from the Auto Sheet Feeder and remove it. If you cannot remove the jammed paper or the paper jam error continus after removing the paper contact your Canon service representative.

3) Reattach the Rear Cover.
Hold the Rear Cover so that the Rear Cover Lever comes to the left. Align the protrusions at the right edge of the cover with the slots at the rear of the machine and press on the lever ot reattach the Rear Cover.

Important : Press firmly on the Rear Cover until it is fit squarely in the rear of the machine. If the Rear Cover is not reattached properly, paper may not feed properly and cause paper jams.

4) If you were not able to remove the paper out in step 2, remove it from the Front Feeder. Refer to cause 1.

5) Relaod the paper in the Front Feeder and press the OK button on the machine.
If you turn off the machine in step 2, all print jobs in queue are cancelled. Reprint if necessary.

Hope this helps.

PAPER JAM IN AN CANON IMAGERUNNER 400S COPIER. IT SAYS TO LIFT FRONT COVER AND THEN LIFT LEFT COVER. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO OPEN THE LEFT COVER.

Open the front door and do you have a sorter on it? If so, you need to move it away. The finsher has a bracket and right under the bracket there is a handle pull the handle up and find you will see your jamed paper. Also, look at the duplex area under the transfer unit. It has a green handle lift it up and maybe find a jam there. You may have found it by now
