Canon printer won't print wireless from phone - it has been working but we had to change the internet router and now it says cannot communicate

Sounds like when you added xp you inadvertently installed new print driver on server.
Try rolling back driver. But may drop xp from printing.

Best solution network printer to router bypass server. Will require hard wire from printer to router. disconnect from server may need network card for printer.

The MX310 is not a wireless printer. I own it and have never seen that feature anywhere in the specs either. Try the MX860 (my roommate owns it and it's VERY nice).

For installing a wireless printer on Windows XP, wireless router is an essential device.
