SOURCE: Power to dishwasher and will not run
Check your thermal fuse. It will be inside the control panel, clipped to the control board somewhere. It's usually a white plastic square piece with two wires connected to it. The fuse should read a short. If the fuse is blown, you will need to replace it. If the fuse reads good, I would suspect you have a control board problem. Make sure you secure power to the dishwasher BEFORE you take any resistance checks, however. Even if the fuse is blown, you could still have live voltage on one side of the fuse. If you cannot find the fuse, there should be a tech sheet with wiring diagrams inside the lower kick plate below the door. This could be a tremendous help you as well. Let me know what you find.

Have the same problem with our asko 1475. In the past, we would disconnect the dishwasher and when we reconnected the power, it ran fine. This time it isn't helping!

I had this same problem so I took the front panel off to access the thermal fuse. What I found instead was that food had become lodged in the door latch which was keeping the door safety switch from operating properly. I took a thin screwdriver and removed the food from the cavity. Since you did not have the problem in your first five years the cavity just might be the problem since that is about the amount of time it took me to get too much food stuck in mine as well. This solution took five seconds and requires no disassembly.

SOURCE: Are white front door dishwasher replacement panels available?
Absolutly! There is a website that allows you to do a bunch of stuff to the front of your dishwasher , including changing colors, without actually unscrewing anything. Check out www.applianceart.com. They do sell stainless metal panels for cheap there too.
