This could be due to several reasons. The video color processor could be having issues, the LCD ribbon could be having an error or the LCD itself could fail. Do you still have a warranty? best would be to take it to a repairman.

You have a defective light engine and you DO NOT have to be under warranty to have it replaced. Here's what you need to do...we just went through this. You need to call Hitachi's Customer Relations Department (not regular customer service). The customer relations # for Hitachi is 800-654-7013. Tell them what's happening with your set and that you think it's a bad light engine. When you call them, they will initially act like they have not heard of this problem but will give you some names of some certified Hitachi dealers in your area.

Call one of the dealers and they will send a tech out to diagnois the problem. Once the tech tells you that you have a defective light engine (all they have to do is look at the set when you have it turned on) call Hitachi customer relations back and tell them you had a tech out to confirm the problem. They will then act like they know exactly what you're talking about...imagine that! They will call the dealer that came out and once they confirm this with them, they will send a new light engine to the dealer. The dealer will then call you and arrange a time to come out and install it.

This part is paid for by Hitachi, regardless if you're under warranty or not. If your under warranty, the service should be covered if not, the part will be covered by Hitachi and all you pay is for the install. Our install was $400. DO NOT let any dealer get the part and tell you that you have to pay the $1500 for it. Hitachi knows about this problem and they are paying for the part. All you pay is for the install. Again, deal only with customer relations at the number listed above and only deal with a dealer Hitachi refers you to. Good Luck!

SOURCE: No power on Westinghouse LTV-46w1 Television

This kind of failure is very common; that is why I suggest that one should keep the old CRT TV, buy a converter and put them both in the garage or basement so they are handy when our s*e*x*y new sets go belly up.
With fair confidence I can say that the main power supply has failed.
If you want to try this on your own, it only will require the removal of a few screws and a flashlight.
- Unplug the set overnight. - Remove the rear housing  - Use some logic and these tips; look for a separate board with larger than average parts on it and seems closer to the power cord than others. This will be the power supply.
Check the board over for something that looks like a part number and record it. If you find more than one, one of them will be the bare board number, the second (sometimes on a sticker instead of printed directly on the board) should be the part number for the assembly.
Search for the Westinghouse service company nearest you and call them with this info. Ask if they repair these or just sell new ones. If it is the latter, don't pitch the old one, continue to look for a repair service that will take it on after you have the new one in place and can watch your favorites again. The new supply will likely cost between $90 - $150 and with a little common sense, most anyone can remove and replace these in the set. Expect any repair to cost about the same as a new supply; US technical labor costs more than Chinese assembly labor.
These supplies can be as reliable as the primitive older type but companies refuse to use the high-grade components necessary to give them a long life so they fail much sooner than the old, less efficient kind known as 'linear' supplies.

Call Panasonic and request for correction tool(software update) part#LSUQ0100. This comes with the instruction. Try this first before suspecting light engine.

SOURCE: Our 3 1/2 year old Vizio P42 plasma made a pop, screen now blank

Hello kilmertwo, my names Dave! What your TV did is called the POP OF Death! In order to repair the TV you will need to replace the Y sustain & the Z sustain board also! The loud POP noise you heard came from the Z sustain! If you take this TV to a local repair shop the cost of the repair is going to be around 800.00 big one! 450.00 parts and 350.00 labor! Not only will you be spending that amount but this is a common problem with this TV! So you take the chance of this happening again! What I'm trying to do is to save you from throwing good money after bad! Do not repair the TV! You can for the same amount of money buy a totally brand new TV! I would suggest that you buy a Panasonic! Trust me!

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions! I'll be more then happy to answer any question you may have!

I have a vizio e60-e3 tv and replaced led because of blu screen. When i put it back together the tv powers up then turns off. I have checked all connectors.

Hello Anonymous, if you have replaced all the LEDs with LEDS of the same type and you have not missed any connection, it is very possible that you have a fault in the Power Supply board, it can happen
I send you a link to a video about your Vizio TV
Regards Franco Dosil

Hola An?nimo, si has reemplazado la totalidad de los LEDs con LEDs del mismo tipo y no has errado ninguna conexi?n, es muy posible que tengas falla en la placa de Fuente de Alimentaci?n, puede pasar

I'm trying to hook my antenna to my 60in vizio tv E60-E3 it's not a menu button on my remote

Because an E60-E3 model Vizio isn't a TV. It is a monitor. There's no built in TV tuner.

Vizio TV has purple haze and colored stripes on the sides of the picture.

You possibly have a failing hi-voltage module or fly-back transformer going bad. If it has a fly-back transformer, It's not worth the trouble. Some repair shops will sell you a module. Call a repair shop for help.
