SOURCE: no power from transformer

I had the same thing happen on my original Roady2. I suspect the powerplug port on the Roady2 unit is not getting a good connection. Does the transformer plug have a plastic tip? You can try to cut that off with a sharp razor blade. Sometimes that will make a good tight connection. What I did was buy a used Roady2 unit on ebay. Also another cause is

the power connection is not being made by an internal problem or wear caused by constantly plugging and unplugging the power port. I use a Cambridge XM playdock boombox at home. I bet getting a different unit will solve the problem. The only problem is that finding a used unit might take some work. Good Luck

SOURCE: i plug it in 220v,

well, I hate to be the wrong with the bad news, but it is a 110 v machine, so if you some how plugged it into 220v, yes it is pretty much toast, and it would be way more money then machine cost for repairs, I am sorry this has happened, but good news I hope, is no one got hurt. Mike from fixya

be careful . USA voltage is 110 volt - see on the power input and lable - does it state 220 Volt or 110 . Usually you will find a selector switch on the power input side .to set the local voltage - otherwise you need a stepdown transformer

How to solve my laptop acer laptop 5735z power not on

Check the lead to your transformer then from your transformer to the laptop it is common for the transformer to go but if you look at all the junk written on the transformer you can purchase one to match at a reasonable price on line or at a local shop as they tend to have many second hand ones.

Led christmas lights too bright

Usually if you plug a lamp dimmer in, you can dim LEDs. The problem is that you may be using a switch-mode power supply which will give feedback and automatically increase the voltage. The manufacturer is probably the only safe way to get information as to whether this can be done.

How to test for bad transformer

  1. To test a transformer you need to know what type of transformer it is first. There is a step up transformer which steps the voltage up and a step down transformer which steps the voltage down.
  2. You will still test the transformers the same way for step up and step down transformers. If it is a step up transformer apply the incoming power to the transformer or plug it up. Now take your multimeter and place it on the AC volt scale and test the voltage if the voltage on the data plate says the transformer should step up to 220 volts and it doesn't then your transformer is bad.
  3. Now repeat the same steps for a step down transformer. Plug up the incoming or primary power and test voltage on the outcoming or secondary side the voltage should step down to the proper value. If you don't read any voltage on the secondary or outgoing side then the transformer is bad.
  4. To read the voltage place the two meter leads on the secondary side, or the side you will plug your equipment into. If the secondary side is an outlet then place the two meter leads into the top two slots in the plug and read voltage. You also want to make sure the incoming power is working as well. Otherwise you will be reading a bad reading every time.

I have been trying since Christmas to get this thing to work, it is frozen on the first screen. I want to return it. How do I do that? The store where it was purchased will only reinburse half of what...

You got it as a gift ... it doesnt work ... they are offering 50% refund for a product that is broken ... how do they know you didnt break it? Take the $ and run. Be glad you have friends with good taste to give you a nice gift ... that sadly, doesn't work.

Smeg sa35mx microwave vibration noise when in use

The vibration can be due to either the transformer which is getting loaded when the magnetron is ON or it can be the vibration of the turn table - possible fault in the drive mechanism or irregular movement. If this is the transformer check the voltage and if it is heating up then it can be faulty , if not the mountings of the transformer can be tightened.
Also the turntable movement drive can be reset.

Why would my microwave be buzzing, I just got it for Christmas and I can't leave it plugged in because it constantly buzzes?

There are loose laminations in the transformer causing the noise. A replacement transformer will stop the noise or indeed re-crimping the cover on the transformer will possibly clear the noise.
