The oil inside for the reverser is good? You found that the oil level was correct, the fluid was clean and no further actions were needed? Usually the failure is the clutch pack but that is seen in the fluid. Can you feel or notice that the shift lever is moving into the gear selection correctly? Do you notice, feel or hear that reverse gear is engaged when selected. Do you hear any noises or sounds that weren't there before the failure? Did this failure happen out of the blue or have you noticed reverse acting up for a while now? Please let me know. Good luck.

You have either a blown head gasket, cracked block or craacked head. Major work ahead. Hopefully, the water didn't mess up your main bearings.

HAVE YOU CHECKED THE TRANSMISSION/HYDRAULIC
OIL? THEY ARE THE SAME. ON SOME TRACTORS THIS
CAN BE CHECKED AT THE REAR OF THE TRACTOR JUST
BELOW THE SEAT. IT COULD ALSO BE A BAD HYDRAULIC
PUMP.

Hi, the most likely cause is the transmission over heating. Remove the battery and the cradle underneath the battery. Here you should be able to access the transmission. Clean all grass and debris from the cooling fins and check the cooling fan for damage. Hope this helps. Regards Phil.
