SOURCE: 18 volt batteries

Yes you can, as long as the batteries are the same style and fit the older Ryobi tools. The Ah rating is a capacity rating. The higher the Ah, the longer the battery will last so the 1.7Ah will just last a bit longer than the 1.5Ah batteries, but yes you can use them on older 18v Ryobi tools. I do it all the time.

SOURCE: Jobmate 18 volt chordless drill charging

About 60 minutes...max 90 minutes. Do NOT leave it on the charger for hours and hours...that just cooks the battery.

And switch regularly between the two batteries...else the one that doesn't get used will die.

Batteries require replacement. It has lost its holding ability. You can try replacing the batteries as the charge holding capacity is lost as per your statement.

SOURCE: I lost the charger for my 18 volt Jobmate cordless drill, to replace with another one, the input would be 120 volt, what should the output be?

Depends on the type of battery used eg, L Ion or Ni Cd

I need to know what the output needs to be on the charger of an 18 volt jobmate cordless drill.

During the initial state of the charge, the charger operates in a fixed-current mode. This means that the current will be held at a constant rate until the battery is charged to a bit over 18 Volts. During this phase, the output of the charger will not be 18 Volts. This is done for safety and battery preservation; forcing 18 Volts on a battery discharged down to 15 Volts or less could cause the battery to overheat. If no battery is connected, the charge controller may hold the output low until a battery insertion is detected.

The exact behavior of the charger depends on the chemistry for which it is designed, whether Nickel-Cadmium, Nickel-Metal Hydride, or Lithium ion. If the output of a known-good battery is 18 Volts after charging, and it has normal capacity, the charger is working properly.

However, a bad cell in the battery changes things. If you run a Ni-Cd battery down too far, the weakest cell in the battery may begin to reverse charge from the current coming from the other cells. This usually causes an internal short circuit, and the cell will be stuck at 0 Volts. A battery pack with one shorted cell will read 16.7 -16.9 Volts when fully charged, and the drill will not have the peak power it should. The charger will give you a battery fault indication if it is equipped to do so.

How many 12v batteries are needed to run a 15000w inverter properly

It is normal to use only half of the capacity of a battery and this is called 50% depth of discharge (DOD) so the watts of a battery is volt X amp hours eg a 12 volt bat @ 200 AH would be 2400 watts but you can only use half of that other wise the battery will be stuffed, so all you have is 1200 watts, if you have a 400 AH battery you would have 2400 watts, you also have to know the capacity of the battery and this is call the C rating of the battery once you have that you can work out how many hours it will run for.
On an of grid system I would not use any less than 6oo to 700 AH @ C100
It is normal to size the batters to energy demand in KWHrs per day of (AC load )
Hope this help.

I have a aowa electric bike 48v 500w. the batteries are split into 4 12v 12ah. can i use a lower, lets say 12v 10ah battery or lets say 4 12v 9ah batteries?

yes, the ah has to do with the capacity of the batteries, so the lower the ah the shorter the runtime, and if you have 3 10ah and 1 6ah the capacity of the 10ah batteries will be downgraded to 6ah
