Brand new trying to insert cartridge that came with it
Have you removed all of the protective packaging, including tape strips or plastic covers as instructed?
Are you sure you have the correct model cartridge for your exact model? each brand has many different and incompatible cartridge designs
There is usually a specific way that cartridges are inserted, look up the manual at your printer manufacturer's website.

Hello,
This is a common problem in the Epson line. You may attempt to resolve this first, by powering off the printer. Then remove the power cord and leave it unplugged for an hour. Then plug it back in and power on the Printer. The error may reset itsefl on its own.
If it doesn't please refer to this Tip Page on how to obtain and use a utility to reset your Epson. Even if your printer is not listed as those this will work with this method usually will work today.
If you have any trouble getting this resolved please contact me by using the Comment Box bleow.

Per HP:
Hold “print photos” button and “red-eye removal” buttons together, release
ø Then press the “red-eye removal” button, release
ø Then press the “print photos” button, release
ø Then press “red-eye removal, release
ø Scroll to “resets menu”, click ok to select
ø Scroll to “Options” semi-full reset, ok
The printer then powers off and wait a couple of minutes. I believe the printer turns back on (or maybe the user needs to power back on after a few minutes). The refills then work.

Try this one
Take out the inks and printhead
Leave the cartridge door open, then unplug the power cord from the back of the printer while the access door is open
Close the cartridge door once the cord is unplugged
Reconnect the powercord, turn on the printer, then your printer will look for your printhead "Printhead missing or not installed correctly..."
Then put everything back. make sure it will snap in to place. Then print a calibration page, then scan it. This is just over writing the error message.

Hi there
There are only a few steps you need to do to reset a Brother printer ink cartridge and once you do it, you will be up and printing in no time. There are actually two things that a Brother printer uses to detect ink and you can manipulate one or the other.
Instructions
Things You'll Need:
· Black electrical tape, masking tape or duct tape
1.
Step 1
Identify the printer If your printer uses memory, you can tell which printer you have by looking at where the cartridge goes in, if you see two "eyes" and a part of the cartridge goes in between them, follow Step 3. Otherwise, continue with Step 2.
2.
Step 2
Clear the memory by taking the cartridge out and unplugging the unit for 30 seconds. Then, plug it back in and put back in the cartridge. You may need to do this five times, as the memory holds the last five cartridges.
3.
Step 3
If the Brother printer has "eyes" where the cartridge goes, you will need to block in between them with a piece of tape so that it thinks the cartridge is always full. Simply put a piece of tape on the piece of the cartridge that goes in between the eyes to block the path of the infrared beam
Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.
