You did tighten the clutches?

If you did the DEC gears are either loose and not meshing or have broken.

Dr. Clay in Arkansas can repair this scope but it would cost several hundred dollars-- Celestron will probably sell you the parts to fix it. Here is their web site. You can also return the mount to them for repair.

This is a simple reflecting telescope-- put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the focuser-- take it outside during the day time and practice focusing on a distant object.

Image is upside down in Celestron PowerSeeker 114AZ telescope


That's because this telescope is what's called a reflector. The image in reflector telescopes are upside down. This isn't an issue since reflectors are designed for looking at the night sky.

What are the lense cap diameters?


Eyepieces come in two popular sizes 1.25 in. and 2".
Some older 'scopes have 0.96 inch eyepieces.

I have a Celestron 114 GT Nexstar. The 3-vane upper eyepeice mirror has a special nut-bolt that attaches it to the tube. How can I get another one. Thx .


You might be able to get one from Celestron here:

or at least find out the tread size-- if you know this you could buy a replacement at a hardware store.

Hi glad to see this i found a looks like a 5 in celestron with a wood tripod most parts are there need eye piece and the mirror it looks in to


This is a reflector style telescope. Measure the hole in the focuser-- eyepieces come in 3 sizes-- .965, 1.25, and 2 inch sizes. Buy the correct size. These are sold by many on line retailers, here is one:
