Geo prizm radio 1993. All of a sudden radio won't go on at all. switch seems a little loose but no clock time showing power either. Says it shares a fuse with cig lighter and that works. Help!

seems so. the cig answers are wrong. its ACC fuse runs radio on PRIZM.93
we dont even know what radio is there.
on old cars most have had the radio replace 3 times.
stock (not likely this old ,no?) cassettes?????
then CD added
then CD/DVD/MP3 added
then media center the does everything even runs
MP3(etc) on a USB stick (best of best forever)
see? or ipod, port. etc.etc... even SAT radios.

that is the point here, we cant SEE< we are blind
why ask the blind for help.?
zero photos posted. as are 99.9% on this forum.
and fails mostly just for that one fact here.

why not just buy a better radio head end.?
and the adaptor kit that allows you to just
plug it in and not mangle all those stock wires.
the kit is sold in all autostores in the USA
for like $15 bucks. dirt cheap.
then install the new head end.
this is what all folks do.
or get it done by those that do...

Dvd side used to work but now when i put in a dvd it says NO DISC. I've tried several different dvds but still says the same thing. I have the HR-XVC25U

Hi

This is really strange. This summer my DVD side of my JVC Combo did the same thing. I went through the circuitry with a scope but I couldn't nail it down to one component. I called JVC about a new board but they wanted more than a new unit costs. They wouldn't tell me if this is a problem across the whole line. I ended up buying a new Panasonic combo at WalMart for less than $100. Its working well for now.

Thanks

I have virtually no FM receiption with my JVC RX 6000V Receiver

If you want to buy the antenna wire you could get one at radio shack that will plug into the spot you are talking about or as I used to do is put a small nail into the middle of the hole and wrap a wire, wire is 3 foot long longer the better, that is stripped around the nail, the wire only has to be stripped where it touches the nail, this is not the professional way to do this but it works the same, make sure not to push the small nail in to farand the nail fits the hole snug, Would recommend getting the one from radio shack but I have done it the way I said for ever and works fine. And you will have fm reception

Bad reception

Sounds like you have an antenna problem. Find where the antenna plugs into the radio. Unplug it and find a nail or something the same diameter as the center pin wrap about 3-5 turns of a four foot piece of wire around the nail and plug the nail into the antenna input on the radio. If it clears up reception you have a bad or grounded antenna. Follow the antenna wire back to the windshield or fender etc. mounted antenna, sometimes there are other plug in points that get knocked loose.

Remote lost: My TV/VCR Combo only displays 12 channels

Go to http://www.jvcremotes.com/ or any similar site and order the original remote. That way you are sure to get a remote capable of doing whatever you need. The alternative is to keep buying universals until you get lucky and find one that works all functions on that set.
