It is nearly 14 years old - probably just worn out. Repair will be uneconomical - replace it with an updated model.

HP photosmart 725 battery is not charging

This camera takes a lithium battery and if it is left to fully discharge then you may never be able to charge it up again. Your answer may be another battery. Find a cheap third party battery to try it out.

HP Photosmart R725 card is unreadable just put in new SD card HELP!

Are you sure it's an SD card? The R725 works with SD cards 2GB or smaller. It will not work with higher-capacity SDHC cards.

Hp photosmart r725 6.2 megapixels.

If you're getting the 18-4489-957-000 error code, then give it a good tap on the corner where the lens cap is. A little tapping and the lens cover should pop closed. When you turn the camera on again it will probably work just fine.

I was just about to junk my camera when I googled the error code and found this very tip in another thread. It worked like a charm.

Unsupported card error on r725 photosmart hp

I've had this happen a few times. I simply removed the memory card and reinserted it. Usually that does the trick on the first try. On a bad day I've had to do it 3 or 4 times in a row until it just worked.

Camera shuts down at start...pics out of focus sometimes...

Hi, try resetting the camera. To reset it, open the battery cover. You should see a tiny hole right beside the battery release switch. Here's the link for the camera rest: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00598200&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=1154651&lang=en If this does not resolve the issue, you can "live chat" with a HP representative free of charge. Here is the link: http://ipgweb.cce.hp.com/ipgna/caller/chat.asp?dd=camera&productName=HP+Photosmart+R725+Digital+Camera&productCategory=12117&SCOID=82642&PSOID=1155121&aoid=null&lang=en&cc=us

Hope this helps,
