SOURCE: Denon receiver AVR-3300: Unstable source selection

Very important you have run system set up menu it configures your receiver with inputs analog or digital, speaker size, input, room correction etc Different input modes can be selected for the different input sources.
The selected input modes for the separate input sources are stored in
the memory.
q AUTO (auto mode)
In this mode, the types of signals being input to the digital and
analog input jacks for the selected input source are detected and
the program in the AVR-3300’s surround decoder is selected
automatically upon playback. This mode can be selected for all
input sources other than PHONO, MD/TAPE and TUNER.
The presence or absence of digital signals is detected, the signals
input to the digital input jacks are identified and decoding and
playback are performed automatically in DTS, Dolby Digital or PCM
(2 channel stereo) format. If no digital signal is being input, the
analog input jacks are selected.
w PCM (exclusive PCM signal playback mode)
Decoding and playback are only performed when PCM signals are
being input.
e DTS (exclusive DTS signal playback mode)
Decoding and playback are only performed when DTS signals are
being input.
r ANALOG (exclusive analog audio signal playback mode)
The signals input to the analog input jacks are decoded and played.
t EXT. IN (external decoder input jack selection mode)
The signals being input to the external decoder input jacks are
played without passing through the surround circuitry Your remote is searching for inputs because you did not properly run system set up!!! Here is a link to your manual [PDF] AVR-3300/1 3.3E*

SOURCE: Denon AVR-1500 Receiver turns on but only a red blinking light

UNPLUG IT!!!!!!!!!! Open the cover, and replace the fuse nearest the Transformer, when this is removed, or blows the receiver appears to go into "standby". Exactly what happened to my AVR-1400. 99 cents for a multiple pack at Radio Shack, and your receiver will work like new. Make sure you match the old one EXACTLY.

SOURCE: Denon avr-1804 its turns back after 5 sec

Disconnect all speaker wires on back and then turn on. If it happens again, it's most likely a power supply problem. If it doesn't happen again, it was probably crossed speaker wires.

Denon AVR 789 no display

Time to send back to Denon (seriously). Hopefully you have a warranty on your product (I bought mine at Fry's and it took a few months for the warranty work to be performed). Good luck!

How do I set my receiver to read TV/CBL Dolby Digital. It is a AVR 789

The Dolby digital signal is outputted only through the Optical or Coaxial socket of the CBL box. you will have to get an optic fiber or coaxial cable depending which cable box you have and connect it to the digital input of the Denon receiver. The Denon's digital input are already assigned at the back. Eg: Optic input might be labeled CD so if you are connecting the CBL box to the optic input remember to select CD on the Denon to hear the cable sound, same goes with the coaxial input.

I had the unit set to a second zone that ran into a splitter for four different areas of my house. The second zone is not working, how do I test to see if it is the denon unit or the splitter ?

Plug something other than Zone 2 into the splitter, say, any tape out on the Denon. Keep it simple. Play FM.

When and if THAT works go back to the manual and analyze why Zone 2 isn't working. Observe the Zone 2 Output indicator. (Page 5)

You must have a TV or other speaker-capable device that you can run Zone 2 OUT to. Try that to prove your setup works.

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

Denon AVR-682 center channel has no output

You may have had the receiver set to "Stereo" mode, or Analog instead of "Digital" or "Auto" (automatically switches to digital when it detects a signal) modes. Also, setting it to "Direct" (2-channel from an analog source) could result in loss of center channel. Or your Surround Parameter dial (on the higher-end Denons, at least) could be set to a 2-channel mode.
Finally, if your digital inputs are incorrectly assigned (e.g., COAX1 instead of OPT1, or OPT2 instead of OPT1) for that source, the receiver will use the Analog signal which is stereo-only. You could get a center channel via Dolby Pro Logic II but it would be a "matrixed" signal, not the "real" center channel you could get via digital input using Dolby Digital or DTS.
(If all else fails, re-check your center channel speaker wire connections. It's very unlikely, but also possible, that either the receiver center channel amp or the speaker has failed.)

Im trying to hook up my wii to my surround sound and i have a denon avr-789 and im hooking it up to the aux outlet and im only getting sound no video

Connect all of your cables to your display and then connect another set of cables to your audio variable out from the television to the input you wish to get sound from on the receiver. Then make sure your tv is selected to the input you plugged the wii into, for example, Front video or Video 1 etc etc.

Denon AVR-1403 connected to DVD can hear music but no dialougue!!

Check the center channel speaker and the surround sound audio settings. If you do not have a center speaker, it needs to be set to off on the receiver.
