The bimetallic sensor that shuts the gas off if the pilot light blows out is malfunctioning, you need to have it serviced.
There is a thin piece of metal that sends an electrical signal to the main burner valve when it heats up enough,if the flame is extinguished the gas shuts off so the room doesn't fill with gas and explode

SOURCE: comercial deep fryer pilot light goes out

This problem could be caused by a few different things. You should check the condition of your pilot and the thermocouple, if the pilot is weak due to being dirty you will not generate the optimum Millivolts to run the fryer, you may need to dissassemble and clean the pilot. The thermocouple needs to be correctly placed in the pilot assembly, if it has dropped down to where it is not in the flame it will not work correctly. You may need a new thermopile as it may not be generating millivolts as needed. Gas pressure can cause this as well, if the pilot goes out then the main burners come on you should check the gas pressure. One more thing to check is the hi-limit thermostat, if this is cutting out early your pilot will go out. Imperial uses a self-resetting limit, after a few minutes your fryer will relight and work until if cuts out again. If your fryer pilot stay on with the thermostat off for long periods of time and does not go out immediately when the burners come on and the pilot is clean, you may need a hi limit. This is a lot of info, I hope it helps.

SOURCE: pilot light is lit, burner will not come on

The thermocouple must be in the flame of the pilot and producing a signal to the gas valve. Also check thermostat

SOURCE: Light pilot on Royal deep fryer. Pilot will not

there is a small adjustment screw on the gas valve, turn it clockwise to increase pilot,if that does not work the vent cap on the gas regulator on the back of the unit could be stopped up,remove that cap ,clean out or replace unit can operate without it just fine.If you increase the pilot and it still wont stay lit replace the thermocouple

Hi there!
Check if the thermocouple is properly heated by the pilot flame.
Check also if the hi limit has continuity across the terminals.
Regards.

My deep fryer pilot somtimes goes out after burners ignite

I assume this is a natural gas fryer....Are your jets clean? That is an issue sometimes, and those are the small holes that your flames come out of....Is your gas line clogged anywhere....? I don't sell Dean fryers, not too impressed by that brand, as they leak quite often, and then Dean won't honor their warranty program....so I'm not as familiar with their products, however on some brands, the thermostat dial itself should not be turned to the holding temperature until after it lights and is fully on...Do you turn it to say 350 degrees right away or wait for it to light before selecting your temperature? Thermostats themselves going bad is the number one issue with fryers, so it could be that. To clean out the burner jets, we use a compressor and blow them out clean...You can also use a small brush or skewer to clean them out. I would eliminate everything you can that has no costs involved first, and then move to parts that you have to purchase. If you need a thermostat, I could get you a price on Monday... Our toll free number is 888-542-5959, Restaurant Equipment Outlet, Cincinnati, Ohio. We would need the brand/model number and serial if you have it also. Our service tech who specializes in gas products is off Monday, but there are other people there who can help and get you pricing on parts. I won't be in until after lunch myself Monday, but check out what you can, and if nothing works, then call us on Mon or Tues next week.
Everything is closed up until Monday, so we can't order or get pricing over the week-end. Good luck, hope this helps.

My pilot light will not stay lit. I have replaced the thermocouple and still will not stay lit. Can the valve be bad?

Make sure the thermocouple is deeper into the flame of the pilot light. It needs to reach a high enough temperature to produce a high enough voltage to keep the pilot light lit all the time. I do not think that the main gas valve is bad at all.

I need to know how to lite the pilot on my frymaster fryer

fry099_16_4.gifMake sure the thermostat is turned off. Units burners will light as soon a pilot in it is on. fry099_16_5.gif 3-2 Lighting the Pilot and Burner Figure 1 Figure 2 3. Push the knob in and light the pilot. Continue to hold the knob in for about 60 seconds after the flame appears on the pilot. Release the knob. The pilot should remain lit.

I suggest that you boil it out before using. This cleans the pot of any contaminants here is how to do this.
Boiling Out the frypot To ensure that the frypot is free of any contamination resulting from its manufacture, shipping, and handling during installation, the frypot must be boiled out before first use. Frymaster recommends boiling out the frypot each time the oil or shortening is changed. 1. Before lighting the burner, close the frypot drain valve and fill the frypot with a mixture of cold water and boil-out solution or detergent. Fill to the lower oil-level line. 2. Light the fryer in accordance with the lighting instructions in Section 3.1. 3. Simmer the solution for one hour.
I would attempt to paste the complete owners manual but it's just way to large. I do warranty for Frymaster is how I have access to it. Good luck

Dean SM35GM pilot light low and burners won't ignite

The first thing that you need to check is the gas regulator in between the incoming gas line & the fryer. There is a plastic plug in the top, if this regulator is covered in grease then the regulator is not being vented and you will never get the burners to fire. Next is the gas valve, close to where the pilot tube comes from the valve you will find a screw about the size of a dime or smaller. WITH THE T-STAT TURNED TO THE OFF POSITION Remove that screw cap & down inside there is a plastic adjustment screw, with the unit pilot on, adjust that screw counterclockwise to the desired flame height. You won't need more than a couple of inches, now cycle the t-stat on and the burners should light. If they do not e-mail me at [email protected] & I will walk you thru it.

DEAN SR142GPS Flame Issue

A gas valve is actually 2 valves in one. The first is your pilot valve, when the pilot is lit, the flame heats a thermocouple or thermopile & that heat produces a millivolt signal that is sent to main gas valve( second part) & tells it that pilot is established and to open to allow main burners to light. The 3 "little flames" were coming from the orfices on the burner manifold. If you are absolutely sure you put the gas valve back in the same direction as it came out (arrow on bottom of valve pointing to the fryer/burners) & any springs or adjustment screws were not mucked with, then there is a malfunction in the gas valve. It needs to be replaced.
